EA has spoken to woman and she insists that £128k really is her maximum. She thinks she could scrape together another £500 but that really would be it. I think I would come down to 129, but am not sure she could even come to this.
Not sure what to do now, might let her sweat for a bit!
Give her the weekend, she's hovering, she's said 128k is her max and yet she could maybe find another 500....I think she's playing the game. If you leave it for the weekend then it gives you time to think as well.....0 -
I think I would accept, if she is really needing to move she might just walk and find another vendor...0
-
Tough one isn't it...but I would too just wait over the weekend, leave the ball in her court, then your EA can call and try to suss things out, by then hopefully she'll have found the extra £1k?

See that's why I am rubbish at this house buying and selling. Too eager! Too worried things will go wrong! Also I know that I would carry on looking over the weekend and if I saw something else offer on that lol0

6 years ago we went after a new build house near penrith, a small builder and one of 4. We had a good buyer but she was waiting for probate and it took longer than we thought. We had paid a £500 deposit and we were not going to pull out and neither was our buyer. We then had one push too many from our vendor and we did pull out then as we couldn`t take the nastiness. Ok we lost the £500 but just one week later our buyer became in a position to exchange and completion happened soon after that
I am just saying what happened because believe me pushing does not always have the desired result and perhaps the opposite. We very quickly found where we live at present and never looked back0 -
Yes I agree kitty we are close to pulling out of our sale because the vendors are being too pushy (greedy in their case I think as they have no mortgage on the house and own multiple other properties so not short of money).0

I looked on it as fate in action and now looking back, it certainly was0

A weekend won't hurt though, she wouldn't be able to make another offer on another property until Monday at the earliest anyway so nothing would be lost..0 -
True. But she might see something she likes better. Mind you she might do that anyway, there are just so many variables.0

Thanks Kittie that's really helpful. I do understand what you mean about being too close to sons however. I am just unsure if I should move just a little closer to make a day trip visit a possibility. I would love to see a little more of my granddaughter. At the moment it's just 2 or 3 visits a year. However I need to sell my house first before I can even consider location. Good luck.0
