I think we all thought the same when we read Heffsta's post. I dont think that any of us agreed with what it said. nothing is ever that black and white
Thank you to all posters0 -
Really tempted by one of the houses we viewed. Seems there has been "a lot of interest" from people who have still to sell theirs.
If we knew our sale was definately going through we would probably make an offer but can't pay peak price when losing £50K on ours. Suppose if they wanted a quick sale they could be competitive on price.
The minute we offer on something it would be just our luck for the absolutely ideal house to come up for sale too late.

I agree things are never as clear cut as you would like to think.
Good luck to all us sellers out there (I still expect something to go wrong on ours.)"This site is addictive!"

Yeah, I know it is not as simple as just lowering the price and that was a very black and white way of viewing it. Lowering the price though will increase interest, beat other similar properties etc. And the way things are looking personally I would rather get rid of the house sooner rather than try and compete with the glut of new properties coming on to the market. In a way everyone trying to sell now is already too late. Unless you are in really sort after areas (London etc.)
But good luck anyways.0 -
Now now Heff' we need positive attitudes around here , we dont all have to give away our houses to sell them. Yes it may take awhile but they are still worth good money at the end of the day. We just have to wait it out and be there for one another in the meantime.

So why don't you just drop the price and sell it? It's obviously to high or otherwise people would be buying.
Love it - why didn't the rest of us think of that!! if only it were that easy!!:silenced:They Were Up In Arms wrote: »I think tabskitten is a crying, walking, sleeping, talking, living troll :cool:0 -

Thanks for that unhelpful advice! We have dropped the price and actually didn't price it high to start with. We're willing to consider offers and have sold several times but due to one perspective buyer falling pregnant and not being able to get a mortgage and another buyer losing their buyers, we've not sold.
Sometimes, just dropping the price doesn't make a difference.“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”
