Wow ... I've been decluttering for months, to be honest, and the house has only been on the market since Easter
:o:o mind you, I was ill for months, couldn't do much except wander about chucking out papers... I hope you find the energy for the move!
2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Well in this neck of the woods I think the housing market is moving. :j
We put our house on the market a couple of weeks ago. Had 3 viewers last week & the first ones came back again this week & made an offer. DH wanted to accept as he's worried about the election etc but I thought 'what you dont ask for, you wont get' so rejected. Anyway had an increase in the offer which is now about 90% of the asking price & we've accepted.
Bear in mind that we went with the agent that valued us at 50%!!!! higher than the others. I did think they were a little high, but equally the others were very low, quoting a level that we'd had 9 years ago & that was before a large extension. I think they just wanted a quick easy sale.
Anyway, I know its early days & buyers can drop out, but an offer inside 2 weeks was totally unexpected by us & we cant quite believe it. Then to cap it all, tonight someone from over the road knocked & said they would be interested but had been away on holiday & to keep them in mind if things dont pan out.
I'm sure its a matter of having the right buyers looking at the exact time that your house is out there & fingers crossed that they really are serious - you see, I cant believe it & expect the worst.
Sorry for the ramble - but I've had a nice celebratory drink (just the one :rotfl:)0 -

Did some one call?
First on the market August 2008 £260k, sstc first week for £243 or something like that. Fell through, then loads of interest but only one more offer at £205 which was rejected, then another offer of £225, which was reluctantly accepted, buyer from India got caught up in money laundering! Next buyer accepted offer at £230...... in about may 2009. moved in August 2009, to a rented property which I eventually bought in December and am now renovating and living in at the same time which is hell, but better than being stuck in a house with NFH! Now pondering over seperating the garage from the house and selling to enable to finish renovations!
Good Luck to those still struggling. my thoughts are with you all.Pawpurrs x0 -
Davesnave, wow, sounds like you are living my dream. My husband said if we ever moved again it would be to a small holding. Have you read the books that are out there about peoples' experiences? Some are quite funny.
Since we moved at the end of May last year we have done loads, recently installed a whole new kitchen and utility.
Also we rescued a kitten and she is a little monster. We also got 4 chickens in October. So the family now consists of: Me, hubby, son, dog(Mack), 3 Cats - Olivia, Lily & Tabitha, 4 Chickens - Vickie, Hazel, Brenda & Joy. It is like the funny farm. Our dog is a border collie and he rounds up the chickens. Lily the cat likes to sleep in the chickens' nest and won't budge if the want to lay. They just have to climb in next to her.
Pawpurrs, you are a glutton for punishment. Once you have finished renovating, will you settle down or sell again? Is it a very old house you a renovating? Will tootle over to the renovation board to see what you're up to.
Remember how many viewings you had? I look at the house I am in now and I think it would be physically impossible for me to keep it to a standard that you need to do viewings. I think I would sit in a corner and weep.0 -
rosered100 - great news. I am very jealous.
We had our 9th viewing on Wednesday and our 10th is taking place right now (I'm not there of course).
The viewing on Weds went well we think. Viewer verbally told EA that he had seen a lot of flats and that this was "one of the best". No follow-up feedback yet, or indeed offers.
Very pleased to get two in the same week though0 -
Good luck Elona and everyone else
still nothing to report at all at my end
Thank you to all posters0 -

Hi all, it's all gone very quiet on the house side at the mo, got a viewing booked for tomorrow but not holding my breath....have been busy visiting the DFW board and have officially joined, so it's giving me something positive to think about other than getting stressed over the whole house thing.
Anyway wishing you all luck, hope you all have a good weekend
