Gulp, had the offer accepted! At about 28% off original asking price in may this year. Got to get it through before stamp duty threshold changes :rolleyes:
    Should be doable!

Oh well done, three cheers! :j  :rotfl: :T :j  :D

Fantastic news - some of the best I've had for ages. :j

I just want Kymie to find a good buyer now and my year will be made!

    Hugs, Maggie

Oh thanks so much Maggie! Just to continue my run of luck (or lack of!!) a huge chunk of rendering fell off the house today! So Im off to crawl into a hole until my luck changes lol! xx
  • Hi all, been lurking for a while.

My house has finally had an offer put in after quite a few fell through - think this one is pretty serious so fingers crossed.

One thing worries me, though. Planning permission has just been agreed in my area for a new housing development. Will this come up when my buyer does a search? And do things like this have a negative impact on prices?

Oh Dear Kymie, you really don't seem to be having much luck. I so hope that your luck picks up soon. You must be exhausted looking after the kids with OH and DS down south. Do try and give yourself a little treat every so often. Nice soak in a scented bath with candles? A bar of really good chocolate? A bunch of fresh flowers? All things I've found have helped when life feels like s**te.

Big hugs and a nice cuppa cyber tea coming at you, and a cyber bottle of your fave tipple for once the kids are in bed. ;)

Good luck, I am sending positive vibes - very sixties!

I suspect that the planning permission will come up, whether this will affect price negatively depends on what kind of housing development it is, how close it is to you (eg does it overlook you garden) and that kind of stuff.

We are hoping to buy soon, offer accepted, waiting to hear when exchange will happen. We know the area well - we live close. But I have been searching internet for all I can find about the road, looking at local planning site etc. I imagine many people buying these days do too.

You will have to mention it on the Property Information Form I think too?

Good luck anyway, your prospective purchasers may know already and have taken it into account.

I'm sure someone else with better knowledge will be along in a bit, but you might also think of posting a new thread on the House Buying Forum, as more of the "Regulars" will see it in a standalone post?

But do keep coming here for support and let us all know how it's going.

    Best wishes,

    Maggie

Well done paw purrs. If we accept the low offer on our house, we know completion would need to be by 1st Jan. We wouldn't want it any earlir than 30th Dec though. Are solicitors able to organise transactions between christmas and new year? We wouldn't be ready to move before christmas, but could at least exchange.
