Hi Guys,
Thanks for all the comments. For those wanting "black and white" about the 0870/0845 calls see www.talktalk.co.uk/pricechanges. Theres full details of the recent price changes and recent introduction of inclusive 0870/0845 and UK local calls.
Cheers

Been with TalkTalk for more than two years and have never, ever had a single problem (touch wood!). Not being that ict literate, I did use the Geek Squad for the set up (it was on offer for £10 at the time) and it was well worth it.
I'd heard all sorts of horror stories before I joined but a few friends were with TalkTalk and had had good experiences so I took the gamble and it has been great. Believe me I have a very low tolerance level for poor service but on this occasion, credit where credit is due!0 -
I can thoroughly agree with Paul R's comment. They are very cheap and quite reliable now compared to when they first started in the business. I have phone and broadband - its brilliant. I can call anywhere in the UK for free provided the telephone number startes with 02 or 01 which is pretty much everything apart from mobiles and 0845 type numbers. I also signed up for the international call package which gives me free calls to Spain and France where I can talk for ages to my OH when he is away on business. Broadband is fast and good. They also offered me a free modem when I renewed my contract last year. Yeah - no problems at all.
I get that to free phone on numbers starting with 01 02 and local but the new talk talk plan only includes local numbers so when your contract runs out what happens then!! I was with TT b4 and they were putting prices up willy nilly so i went back to Pipex thats when the problems started EmmaL Talk Talk Company Representative. took me 6 months to get away from Talk Talk they transfered the phone to Pipex straight away because they did not have a choice but not Broadband so it meant i had to phone Talk Talk on a premium rate number they kept asking for a MAC code which i had given them then they were saying it had run out/expired and all sorts of other excuses not my fault i gave the blooming MAC code to them within a week of having it. then they said we will sort it and they didn't and after many many arguements with TT representatives 6 months later i was back with Pipex But did i say i was on a premium rate line for about an hour at a time. I vowed i would never touch Talk talk again. And now Pipex was taken over by Tiscali who were bought out by Talk Talk.. So when the time is up with TT/Tiscali/Pipex I'm off dont care where or who they can't be worse than TT.

Have you heard their theme tune on the Ad. We'll be together, well once you have listened to it for 2 hours waiting for ANYONE who knows what they are doing, you will be hearing it in your sleep for the next 10 years.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

I am with Tiscali and get Line Rental ,Unlimited Broadband, Free 01 / 02 calls (& 10 top countries) up to 60 mins per call anytime for £20 per month.
I am concerned that eventually Tiscali will be rebranded TT and would I lose Unlimited BB, (against 40GB) lose top countries, (against free local calls) pay £1.74 more for A/T calls (£6.49+£11.25+£4.00)
Can TT really cope with Tiscali?0 -
I've just renewed my contract with Talk Talk.
I've no complaints though the broadband wasn't as quick as I hoped, due to our distance from the exchange.
We haven't had any problems at all and it works out a very cheap package (International and Weekend). As my daughter is living in New Zealand it is particularly useful to have free international calls.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0 -
