But it won't happen will it ! The public sector is frozen when it comes to such matters. They fall over themselves to adopt equality policies whilst missing the point completely.

Men and women are not the same and therefore will never be equal.

I can't change that, you can't and no matter how hard they try no council official can.

In general I accept what you are saying.

For individuals I do not - so in my pervious example, I believe that if a man was a prime carer and his wife a career minded individual then it is extremely unlikely she would get custody in a court case.

I also believe that if a woman is totally career minded then she can float to the top of career bubble if she is totally focused.

However most of us conform to a greater or lesser extent to stereotypes - PWCs are usually women, men usually earn more than women etc

What I don't understand is if you believe that men and women are not equal then why so angry when you perceive they are not treated equally?

Not anger my dear, just annoyance. ;):rotfl:

Put simply because it's not equality it's inverse discrimination. Whilst many supposed discriminated groups have gained there has been no offer in return.

    I thought so. ;)

Quite simple. By trying to eradicate discrimination the UK has actually just discriminated against a different group.

I prefer to be part of a society where at least people are recognised as more than their stereotypes so blokes get to be allowed to be parents with care, it's a higher bar they have to pass but at least they get the opportunities.

Men who are subjected to domestic violence are entitled to support rather than be told with incredulity that there is no way a strapping bloke like them could be being beaten.

We don't have a perfect system by any means but at least we are trying as a society to acknowledge that we are individuals with individual needs.

Do you mean the discriminated against different group are white males?

1 So it's not equality at all is it. ;):D

2 Most often yes. Whilst rightfully trying to address discrimination we have as a society lost sight of the very thing we are trying to achieve.

Sorry, been out of the loop, had to cook the meal, seems that I can do that if nothing else.

LG, when I had the chop I was told that the only way to be sure that there is no child as a result of sex is not too, not an option!

Yes you are correct 100% with all sex there is a chance of conception, and no I make no judgment on any of it. My hope is that my daughter wont get a supprise that is not planed for. Yes it is the responsibility of both sides to take precautions, I accept this as well, even if I did not prsctice what I preach now, in an earlier life!

She wants to have children but not yet she wants to wait till she is about 25, her words. Yes I know that things dont always go the way we plan!

Yes I have also given her condoms, as I am not stupid, at least I dont think I am, so that when she has sex, she has the option to say, use this or no. She tells me she has not used them yet, but there are things that Dad really dosn't need to know, if you know what I mean. She is not like her father :A sweet and inocent!!!:rotfl:

There is no such thing as true equality in this country - we are still such a long way away from it. Whilst men may discriminated against in terms of being a parent, they still hold the cards in a lot of ways which gives them more opportunities than women and they are much less discriminated against in general terms than women.
