Translation: I am a hard done by woe is me male and women are horrid hateful creatures, you can give me any hard evidence you want but I am sticking to my claim that women are harpies and men are innocent and hard done by.

The only evidence I need is the fact that some of the women in my life have been carp and that is enough for me to generalise to everyone else.

But you have not provided any evidence

Whilst my " evidence " is anecdotal it's real and certainly happened.

Discrimination against single male parents is very real and prevalent.

I would have hoped you thought more of me than to think i would be bigoted.

First you made a claim that appeared to say that women get council houses more easily than men - when challenged you changed your stance slightly and said that people who claim domestic violence get council houses more easily than other people and that these people are almost always women (a very different claim btw)

I found an article about male domestic violence that quite clearly states that the law is the same regardless of gender, is that not evidence? You on the other have provided none except your feelings. I suggest this says more about the internal workings of your character than the fact

I did think more of you until you stated that females get houses by claiming domestic violence and that is sexist. Females are the victims of domestic violence more often than men because they are physically weaker.

More women than men get breast cancer - not because they are women per se but because they have more breast tissue on average - does that make breast cancer sexist?

My point is that large groups of people believe that other groups of people get preferential treatment from government bodies.

A lot of men believe that women get preferential treatment because they are women.

A lot of whites believe that blacks get preferential treatment because they are black.

There is not evidence for this preferential treatment except the gut feeling of the person feeling it.

To be blunt because it's true.

A current CSA caseworker has admitted to me that her dept. is institutionally sexist.

The legislation Harman wants to bring in "positively " discriminates.

I have someone very close to me who works in the public sector and the PC garbage they go through everyday blows the mind.

Taken in isolation these things might be unique. Taken together a trend starts to appear.

Of course the law is the same so no it's not evidence.

My case must be unique then - my caseworker advised me that the reasons dividends don't count is because male MPs pass the legislation and lots of them take dividends.

Bullshit - the real reason is they are overworked and overloaded, they have the legislation to deal with my case but choose not to because it's easier to fob it off and let some other department deal with or if they are really lucky then the PWC will just give up.

PC garbage - how can that be sexist then? that sounds oxymoronic

I personally do not agree with positive discrimination but why do you think she wants to bring in this legislation?

Anything to do with the fact that despite decades of equal salary legislation and campaigning, the gap between women and men's pay still looms large and apparently unbridgeable?

Anything to do with the fact that despite decades of equal jobs legislation and campaigning, the glass ceiling for women still appears to exist?

I actually see it as because women in general take on the role of mother as a career compared to men in general. The pay off is going to be less pay and less promotion and that is acceptable to me.

It is not acceptable to complain bitterly that men are discriminated against in these areas of child care and yet not accept that women are discriminated against in other areas because of the same root issue.
