Howdy all..
Well i signed up with T-Mobile on the 15th of June – received a text message on the 30th of June saying about the roaming charges increases and T&C changing.
Took the obvious route like many, claiming i could cancel without charge due to a T&C change and not agreeing with it. Actually got the complaints dep telephone number and the women i spoke to contacted legal for me directly. Gave me the spiel of ‘An Additional Service’. So can’t cancel.
I’ve just discovered something though.
They texted me on the 30th of June saying roaming charges were going up on the 1st of July. With the URL t-mobile.co.uk/EUTerms.
However – the EUTerms bit about roaming charges states.
“This page outlines new EU roaming rates that will apply for all pay monthly, U-Fix and business customers (excluding corporates) from 29 June 2009.”
So i was notified in by a text AFTER the roaming charges had gone up. Also the text message they sent me effectively lied about the roaming charges date.
Where T&C 7.1.2:
“We can suspend, change, increase the price of or
withdraw part or all of the Additional Services on giving
active users of the Additional Service a reasonable period
of Written Notice. The change will then apply to You once
that notice has run out.
So surely – they have violated their own terms and conditions with me? By notifiying me after the fact - let alone sending me a text message which was contary to the truth?
I’ve sent in an email again pointing that out – going to ring the person i’ve been speaking to in complaints dep after she is out of a meeting at 4.30
I’m really hacked off about the increased charges – as majority of my family live in France and i goto Germany often on business.0 -
