I used a 6 day old stock when making more chicken stock! just recycle it, or boil it for at least ten minutes before using, to kill off any bacteria. I had planned to use the stock for chicken pies - but, things happened and I didnt! I dont hesitate to freeze it after 3 days usually but it 'hid' in the back of the fridge!0

Rose Prince in the New English Kitchen (page 117
) reckons that fresh stock will last for 1-2 weeks in the fridge if "left undisturbed in the coldest area. If it smells of anything other than the ingredients, or sour and lemony, throw it away."
Mind you, she also reckons that you can keep cooked chicken in the fridge for five days if you cool it properly. I'd use the stock! They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -
thanks ever so much I'll give it a sniff & decide from there - if all else fails I'll give it to my folks as they eat anything0

I'd agree with the keeping of stock.
But I've also read that adding vegetables to make stock (such as onion, carrot, etc) is what helps to turn it off so I never use any of these just the bones on their own.0
