Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
we were in tescos the other day and i always find myself looking into little car seats, and its become such a habit that OH does it now too... well we were shopping the other day and suddenly i heard OH exclaim "DAMN!" (said the american way...more like day-um) i looked around as thats usually the cue for a giant fro or an ugly outfit and there was a baby in a car seat that looked like a gnome, if it had been holding a fishing rod i would have put it by a pond to scare away the herons!
99% of babies are gorgeous...but some, phew! good job a mothers love is blind!

'A mother is waiting for the bus with her baby in her arms. When the bus pulls up and she boards, the bus driver screws his face up and stares at her little darling with a grimace.
"Oh my gawd that's an ugly little tyke you have there missus!" he says (it's a London bus).
Deeply offended, poor mum storms down the bus to the back and sits down beside a little old lady, fuming to herself and muttering imprecations.
"I've got half a mind to go back there and give that bus driver a piece of my mind!" she exclaims.
"Go ahead luv, in my day rudeness from a bus driver would never have taken place, I blame today's modern society," says the little old lady. "Tell you what, I'll hold your monkey for you while you talk to him."'

Any idea's on where to get some nice bibs from that don't cost loads? I need to chuck out a load of Elliot's and get new ones, but as he still lives in them all day I can't afford to spend lots of on them as i'll need to buy a few! Those bandana's look cool, but £4 a time is bit too much for us :( I could maybe get two more expensive ones for if we go out somewhere nice, but day to day i need cheaper but still nice looking bibs!

Sorry to ramble on, i just noticed id left an old bi b on in one photo and it looks terrible as its fading and worn out! almost 9 months of abuse!

Keely, what sort do you want? I like those ones that fit round the neck and fasten at the side (so you can take them off when baby asleep without waking them), they are towelling on the underside so good for dribbling

    found a pic http://minimode.co.uk/baby-boys-5-pack-of-bear-bibs-in-blue

Those are on offer so you would get 10 bibs for £9, I don't think thats the cheapest but i always think you get what you pay for in bibs
    MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £58774

  • tonighit has gone from bad to worse. Feel like i'm losing it. Pretty sure they are going to take the baby away if i carry on like this. I don't know what to do. I'm stuck here till saturday and its awful. I keep trying but oh just wants to punish me i think. I don't know how i'm going to get through tonight let alone a few days. I've done something stupid. I really don't know what to do i really don't. I just want to leave. Wish i wasn't so far away. Wish i'd passede my test so i could drive myself. Argh. Sorry for the rant. I just feel so alone and so broken.

feelie, your not losing it.... i promise you, those tablets made me feel the same way and looking back now i realise how irrational i was being, NOTHING is as bad as it seems, you have had little sleep, all this stress and god knows what else... of course your frazzled,
NOBODY is going to take Toby away, even if you ask for help, join a support group or camp on your HVs doorstep

you must have someone you can call, a friend, a neighbour, some family... there must be someone and if there isnt then you need to call the samaritans, there will be a way to get you out of that house, and away from your OH who is not helping at all

you say "ive done something stupid", this is really worrying, please get help
call the doctors now, or please call someone, ANYONE! you need a rest and another voice in your head telling you your doing a great job under the circumstances

Scruffy - if you are reading, let us know you are okay.

I'm alright this morning, luckily Toby knows when to be a good baby and let me have lots of sleep.

Waiting for HV, she said she'd catch up with me today, so I'm hoping she calls.

OH is still messing with my head, he came in to say goodbye this morning like nothing happened, argh.

He has finally gone back to work though, so I have some peace at last.
    Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.
  • if it gets to lunch time and you still havent heard from HV make sure she knows you need a visit,
call her up and when she arrives please tell her the truth, she can help you
  • I second CG - Feelie you NEED to speak to the HV and tell her you need help. They will give you help, that is what they are there for. PND is more common than we think and for someone who has your history in your own words it was somewhat inevitable...

For everything that you say and however you feel, Toby seems to be a thriving little boy - you are a good mummy!

Which reminds me - Caz, did you speak to your HV?

Sue - thanks for pointing out that post, GR is a very well respected lady and she speaks sense.

    PP - SO cute!!
