I'm not going to post photos on the grounds that my lot are old enough to sue me if I do, plus their baby photos are not on computer, but I can assure you that mine are extremely handsome.

As they've grown older, I've realised they have a choice: they can either grow beards and look the spitting image of their dad, or be clean-shaven and be the spitting image of me! :rotfl: For a few years DS1 and DS3 had long long hair, so from behind they were JUST like me in my younger days. :rotfl:

The other thing I find interesting is that in their baby photos they look VERY like my uncles, but also like DH and his brother.

I must like familiar faces ...

  • Oh Weezl - he is so beautiful! Too beautiful to be a boy!!

Now tell me where you got that fab dinosaur outfit NOW!!! Benjamin NEEDS one!!

Question about cradle cap - what is it, what causes it, how do I get rid of it??

It's not so bad at the moment but seems to be spreading...I have been putting olive oil on (using a bit of cotton wool) every other day to moisturise it and trying to resist the temptation to pick at it...

    I don't like it! It's minging!!

  • And another stupid question...

Is it safe for Benjamin to wear a bib all the time? His dribbling is getting really bad and I am worried that he is going to get a rash on his chest...he can go through a t-shirt and vest in 5 minutes.

If it's spreading, might be worth getting him checked out by your HV or GP. I know I had some prescribed creams, not that I think they did much good.

Anyway, this is what NHS direct says about it.

DS1 had a rash on his chest, but then I didn't bother keeping him in a bib all the time because he just dribbled under the vest, IYSWIM. Nor did I bother changing him out of his wet t-shirts as quickly as MIL would have liked, because there was no point!

He grew out of it. Eventually.

*sigh* it would appear my gorgeous little Roo has oral thrush - next door neighbour confirmed mine and mums suspicion (neighbour is paedeatric nurse...) so call to docs tomorrow to get something for thrush I guess as well as trying to make it to the BF cafe... busy day!

MFD, Aimee wore a bib permanently between 3 and 9 months because her dribbling was so bad... I used to have 'good bibs' and when I weaned her, feeding bibs... My friends were often bemused by me putting a bib over a bib... But I didn't want all the good bibs stained by food!

Tine, here is information on the most effective thrush treatment... http://www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/thrush-and-breastfeeding.html make sure the Dr treats you and Roo even if you aren't showing symptoms... Otherwise you could find yourself passing it backwards and forwards... Especially if you have any cracks in your nipples... Also drinking some friendly bacteria drinks can sometimes help...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

<- Pretty upset by a post on MSE, really didn't think people could be so cruel.

Everything okay Feelie? Which one hun? Anything we can do?

MFD - we were bought some white plastic-backed bibs by SIL which I thought we'd never use, but I discovered that nice bib on top and these underneath kept LO's chest dry when she dribbled constantly. I also used them for weaning so she could have three on at once, waterproof, nice one, waterproof, when feeding (esp if it was orange or red like all weaning foods at the start!).

Going to look for some pics of Imogen. I swear she wasn't a pretty baby in the early days due to the trauma of being squashed against my pelvis for 5 days. We called her Joda! Of course, she's gorgeous now!
