When did everyone move away from babygros and dress their little ones in clothes, like trousers, tshirts and dresses?

I know Rhys is still only little but he is two months old tomorrow and I'm getting bored of plain sleepsuits :( He's got a really cool one on right now which we "gypsy'ed" (in the words of the nurse who let us!) from the hospital - it's from Tesco and has insects and dogs embroidered on it and paw prints on the feet :D Am on a mission for some more snazzy stuff...

Toby is in babygrows or rompers still, and will be until at least 9 months. I love 'em, so cute annd snuggly.

Also, Morrison do cheap lidded 5 litre tubs for about £1.
    Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.

I got this pillow from mothercare:
    http://www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Multi-purpose-support-pillow/dp/B000TLUG4U/sr=1-5/qid=1247774072/ref=sr_1_5/279-8042718-0527462?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=42764041&mcb=core

I think it depends how you normally sit as sometimes its better without it for example if if I am lieing in bed (the benefits of still having post pregnancy flab is that it provides a convenient elevated squishy cushion for bubs!). I actually prefer to use it for myself to raise me up or put round my back or my neck so I can rest my head on something. The other use is that Leila really likes to lie against it on the floor to raise her up so she can look around. It was definately a wise buy!

Feelie - Leila does the head bobbing thing and I think quite often by sheer luck (or because I have huge nips - the MW said this and I glowed with pride)!! her mouth latches on. I'm afraid these days I usually walk around with one boob or the other permanently out so the odds are quite good that she'll manage to grab one!! If she is being a lazy bones I literally drop the boob in her mouth and hold it like a bottle for her!
Proud Mummy to Leila aged 1 whole year:j

elle, Dylan wears his sleepsuits in bed and rompers through the day, but I have a few tops and jeans and a wee pair of combats for him too for wee day trips out :)
Plus my sister is obsessed with dressing babies up, so she still has all of my nephews 3 - 6 month clothes sitting in a big bad for me when he is ready for them !!
The two best things I have done with my life

hi all, not read the whole thread but thought i'd pop in and ask if any of you have used a bumbo????? this was an absolute MUST have for me with my daughter! it might be useful for some of you new mums!
i can't remember who suggested it to me now but i would never have know about them if not as there are no baby/maternity shops here!

Just a word on bumbos...I love Benjamins but he has started trying to houdini out of it by arching his back and lifting his bum up
I wouldn't mind if he was on the floor - not far to fall - but I had been sitting him on the dining table next to my lappy whilst I did some work...not any more

You are putting Rhys in dresses  :rotfl:

You can get loads of bright sleepsuits (Asda, Tesco, Saisburys) or there are some fab clothes out there...I discovered H&M baby clothes today - really bright and cool

I dress Benjamin in proper clothes every day and have been doing so since he was tiny (although not as tiny as Rhys!!) I think it marks out the difference between day and night for him - getting into a sleepsuit is one of the triggers that means it is time for a big sleep :D

I buy 'soft' stuff though - not jeans etc - I want him to be comfortable :D

Breastfeeding pillows - I just use 2 feather pillows...that way I can adjust them to Benjamins position...and if he falls asleep I can shimmy him over to the sofa or onto the floor without waking him (still on the pillow!!)

That's why I left the laminate down in the hallway!
Do you remember those long plastic runners that people used to have in the old days??

    Am I showing my age?

    *runs away to google*
