hi all, not read the whole thread but thought i'd pop in and ask if any of you have used a bumbo????? this was an absolute MUST have for me with my daughter! it might be useful for some of you new mums!
i can't remember who suggested it to me now but i would never have know about them if not as there are no baby/maternity shops here!

My Bumbo arrived the other day, Toby is so cute in it! I can't see how it'll last long though, his legs barely fit in it and he is only 3 months.

When will he start having a clue when it comes to breastfeeding? What age do babies normal turn to the nipple or seek it out? He'll feed if I plonk it in his mouth but it is as if he doesn't realise that boob and milk are connected!

No problem with prams and dirt here - my Silvercross has only been out the house once. Its just used as a daytime sleeping place. Oh well, at least it looks nice!

Tine, glad milkies is better now, hungry days are hard work aren't they! What exactly do feeding cushions do? I've not bothered up till now, would you really recommend one?

Big rain here, fingers crossed for thunder. My parents are visiting tomorrow and I'm all upcited!

    Hiya,

Erm... bit controversial given what others have said, but I was thinking of using follow on for 2 reasons, it's more nutritionally dense, so if the solids are over-filling, he'll get more calories from it with a less full tummy, and also it contains iron, which I'll try to include in his solids, but I think it can be a bit hit and miss if they really don't like the new flavour you've introduced that day!

    Obviously there's a slight money-saving incentive too.

    ;)
If you want to then you do it :)
Just to add tho that all formula milks contain iron.
I used follow on whith Chris but not toddler milk

With having a big gap between the boys and Charlotte, I've noticed that the pull up nappy pants go up to much bigger sizes than when the boys were little. I've wondered if that is just to keep children in nappies longer to make more profits for the nappy companies.
They also cost almost double  and then there's potty training pants and pyjama pants (which go up to age 7)

Better :) Roo was obviously on a feeding frenzy yesterday but back to a normal feeding level today so I feel like I can keep up :) We haven't tried the "pink milk" boobie yet but we'll give it a go next feed... Going to let her have a feed when she wakes up and then express again and see how we go :)
Also discovered that regardless of cost we're buying a feeding pillow - the big C shaped ones :) I tried one for the first time today and it was great! So much easier to feed when using it - don't know why I've not bought one till now really...
Any recommendations on which one is the best one? I don't mind spending £30-40 if it means she can use it to sit with etc as well as also being great for BFing :)

I hate to say I told you so but.... :p
I've got 2 :D a widgey that lives at mum's and one I was given by a friend here.
was the one you used today quite firm? if so I recomend the widgey as its quite firm the other I have is from America not sure what brand but it's much softer and I prefer it. I got my widgey of ebay for about £15

    Hi guys,

Is there such a thing as a pram mat? My hallway is getting really grubby when I'm bringing it in out of the rain. Something washable would be ideal. What do you all use?

    Weezl x
That's why I left the laminate down in the hallway!
Do you remember those long plastic runners that people used to have in the old days??

    Am I showing my age?

    *runs away to google*
I had the granny mat while chris was little :) I think I got it in wilkos or maybe pound stretcher

I now do this tho (well we only have one car but you know what I mean)

Feely - Edgar seems to try and get to my boob when he's hungry now, he's just this week started to latch on himself sometimes if he's nodding off and then wakes up.
Chris likes to sit in the bumbo at boobie group - he is skinny tho!

I was given a Bumbo by my posh Godmother. Same one who sold me her barely used SX pram for half the new price. In fact, most of the little toys we have are from her :) When there is ever room in my steriliser, I'll get them sorted and out to play - at the min, it's full of milk pots, various pump parts and loads of syringes :(

Elle - could just use a big tub with a lid and some milton for toys? I had three 5 litre tubs at one point!
