Annabel has her special bear (ie mummy's favourite!), a bear from her youngest aunty, the mobile attached to the side of her cot and usually a muslin :D

I was thinking of Benjamin last night - when I went to check on Annabel she was upside down and the wrong way round in her cot -how she did it I have no idea!!! She was even in her sleeping bag! :rotfl:

The last few nights annabel has settled best on her side and I've rubbed her back and patted her bottom (her favourtie methos of soothing!!!:o) and she's gone to sleep that way - however, she rolls onto her back. I know she would be much more comfortable on her tummy (as I am), but I'm terrified to try that

Like mother like daughter eh? ;)

Thanks for all your cot contents :D Benjamin now has no blankets, no mobile, neither of his 2 special bears (that his big brother bought for him) because they have too much hair. I have replaced them with 1 squishy dalmation and a cute teddy with his bow removed (and that passed mummys stringent can I pull your hair or your eyes out testing :D)

I have dyed my hair and it is still as ginger as it was LOL hubby will be pleased :p

Today we are mostly doing singing in teh r.mac household.

I'm too tired to sing 'old macdonald had a farm' again! It's exhausting (and I appear to have run out of farm animal and I didn't know the noises for more exotic breads such as llamas?), but she doesn't seem to like any other song quite as much - even my more modern renditions of those on the radio (however she loves it when her dad sings anything my dizee rascal! ) I'm not feeling very creative this afternoon so I've found someone on you tube to sing it for me. She doesn't appear to have noticed the difference thankfully.

I was hoping that she would be able to appreciate baby mozart - we have a CD made up especially by her very musical aunty, but she seems to like that least of all! typical.

off to try wheels on the bus...now altogether....The wheels on the bus go round and round......

MM - that's good news, I'm thrilled for you. I actually said "woohoo" to my living room, and the furniture all stared back blankly at me ;) (Izzy is having a nap at the mo, but I'm sure she will be pleased when I tell her ;) )
Just being sensible really. Chances are I'll have SPD again, so will be unable to walk for the last few months. Need Toby to be big enough to manage with a Mummy who has to sit down all the time! Pre-eclampsia is possible again, was lucky to get to 39 weeks this time, so might end up in hospital again. Would be easier to manage if Toby is in school and settled into a routine. Oh, not to mention the hyperemisis, need lots and lots of naps while pregnant! All in all, pregnancy wasn't that easy for me!

We are working on a "no more kids till we've moved" plan at the moment (unfortunately this will involve me going back to work ft at least temporarily... but I can hopefuly deal with that if I look at the big picture... hopefuly Izzy can too, or we might need to have a rethink!) Realistically that will mean we can't try for a baby again until Izzy is at least 3, so baby won't be here until she is close to being at school, but more likely will already there. Which fits in nicely with the whole SPD issue. I've got no idea how I would walk with crutches and push a buggy at the same time (and I had crutches from 21 weeks this time!!!). And if she is at school she is big enough to help me carry the shopping home too ;)

Speaking of cots - I know that they are supposed sleep feet to foot and on their backs - but what do you do when they start moving and when I go up to check on her she's the other way around and lying on her tummy with bum in the air! She definately prefers to sleep on her front.

I would say if she is big enough to roll over then it's not worth worrying about it. Izzy decided she would only sleep on her front 2 nights ago, but was fine back on her back/side last night. The funny thing was that she wanted to sleep on her front, but had clearly forgotten about it when she woke up in the morning, so woke up with startled cry because she was on her front and couldn't work out how to roll over while she was so tired! (She is getting better at it, but it's still a bit beyond her when she has just woken up!)

I can't blame her really though - I can't sleep on my back either, so I'm hardly in a position to criticise ;)

Oh, I was going to give you all a mealtime update. Food has become a much messier and slower process - Izzy is now refusing to eat unless she gets to hold the spoon. I bought a big sheet of pvc (don't get too excited anyone, it is white with big flowers on, so not suitable for anything kinky, unless you have very odd tastes ;) ) to use as a floor covering just in time! I now have to spend ages cleaning food from her nose/ears/hair/back. She's also having great fun with the doidy cup, so i've ordered 3 more from amazon. One for each granny and a spare one for at home :)

r.mac - On our farm there are lions and crocodiles and emus... it's all very eclectic. There might have been kangaroos (they go boing) once too. The one that works every time is wheels on the bus (so we have grannys knitting, grandads snoring, teenagers snogging.... everything I can think of until I have to start over... ). Galumph goes the little green frog works a treat too :)

So, photographic evidence? We all promise not to laugh!

Cot contents, a baby, occasionally. Poor little Celia hasn't worked out how to roll from back to front yet so she wouldn't be able to find anything :o

What do you have in / on your babies cot?

NOTHING....IMO the cot is for sleeping, so I don't have anything in it that he might find interesting.
I did used to have two teddies at the top end, but since he started wriggling all around the cot at night-time, I thought it safer to remove them.

Elle - not MSE at all but how about these if they deliver that far...

I hinted and hinted that I wanted one when Benjamin was born but to no avail

    They are SO beautiful:

    That is fabulous!

I had a disaster with a fruit basket from one of my friends who lives abroad.

She ordered one from the internet when Poppy was born and it and mailed it to my parents...and it arrived in a plain brown box...and I was in hospital for two days...and then we moved house a few days after that...and then my parents brought me the box...which nearly walked back out on its own!:rotfl:

    Welcome back CG!

I have been meaning to ask those of you that bought the cowprint vests how did you wash them? I am so poop at these things - did you was them with lights or darks or coloureds?

    I shrink / dye everything :o but I guess I can't excel at everything ;):D

Also, now Benjamin is getting more mobile I think I need to remove his cot bumper. He also has 2 teddies that sit at the top of his cot which have long fur...I think they may need moving too. I have already removed his mobile because he could grab it!

What do you have in / on your babies cot?

I always wash the babies clothes separately - don't ask me why, I've just always done it that way! And I wash whites and colours together (gasp) using 'Colour Catchers'. What an absolutely fantastic invention! :j

Jamie did have a bumper and mobile but they soon went when he got a little adventurous. We now have a book like THIS which has a velcro fastener and also a bunny with long pully legs which also attaches on the cot. I will graudually add a few loose toys when he is older. No dummies as her prefers his fingers!

    xx
