Just adding to the clothes discussion - does anyone find that clothes don't fit anymore?

I'm curvy and find that in trousers/shorts/skirts that if I try a size 16 on, it fits nice around my bum and hips, but there's yards of fabric standing off my waist and it looks stupid. If I get a size 14, then it sits lovely on my waist, but then the fabric is straining over my bum and hips and I get a camel toe which looks awful!

It seems that clothes are designed for straight up and down people now, and I find it really hard to find anything that fits me properly.

I want to try and loose weight from my bottom half to see if I can get more in proportion to buy clothes that fit.

I have exactly that problem. When I try to lose weight through dieting I lose weight off my top half first and end up with scrawny shoulders and no bust but still a big bum and thighs.

I tend to find that exercise works best - lots of walking for slimming down the bottom half. Haven't been doing enough of it myself though!

Caz - I can't see your photos as I'm not on facebook, sniff!

elle that sounds like great news. I agree with caz we all want a nosey at your new look house!!

angela6834 I often lay down in the night to feed El but always stayed just awake enough to put her back in her basket.

Caz Glad you went out and had a good night, I'm off out next sat.

ladybird the doidy cups are great and El can do it on her own now.

El had a great party today. She was sleepy at 11am but wouldn't sleep so she started flaggin bout 2ish but soon after she got a second wind and lasted until 6pm, then we walked home, straight into the bath then bed. She was totally knackered but had great fun. My mum and dad had bought a bouncy castle for the kids which went down a treat.....

Caz I would try and express as much as you can coz even tomorrow you will still have alcohol in your system so her first couple of feeds might need to be EBM. I think I'm right in saying that.
Alcohol leaves your system at the rate of one unit per hour so a couple of glasses of wine will be cleared by the next day... If you've been binge drinking and still feel drunk the next day then it's still in your system and you need to pump and dump... But I'm sure we're all far to responsible for that ;)

    Elle, great news about Rhys!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Elle - sounds like Rhys could be home really soon! :T
Is there a reason you can't just have him in a cot straight away if you don't like moses baskets and cribs?

SB - Jamie looks really like Poppy on your latest pics

Edgar is screaming a lot tonight :( looks like wind from both ends but we're having no luck settling him and I don't have any gripe water or anything like :undecided

  • Caz, sounds like a good night out and just what you needed! :D

Scruff, glad El enjoyed her half year party! We had considered doing one tomorrow for Jamie but we're planning his christening in August so maybe next year.

I think Jamie did enjoy it once he realised what was going on :D

Ladybird, yes it was just babyrice but we have lots more adventurous treats planned for the unsuspecting Jamie! ;)

Sami, poor Edgar. Hope he settles soon (and fingers x'd its not colic).

I know exactly what you mean! Have you seen Phill Jupitus Quadrophobia? Here it is on youtube, it's very very funny! WARNING: very bad language!
that is absolutely hilarious! OH and i have been chuckling so loud we woke the little man up lol!
(Mind you, even solving the "letting me put her down while napping" problem would be good ;) ).
when you do, let me know what you did  i've more or less given up on that now, unless i take him to bed and lay next to him so i dont have to move him and slide off veeeeeery slowly!
