Sami that is just so easily done in the early days ...lack of sleep to blame I think.

(I still forget appointments though and ds sleeps well so don't know what my excuse is!)

I spend a day or two travelling then I need 2 hours to catch up on the thread... no energy or clear thoughts to quote and comment on the million bits that caught my attention but I wish I'd seen the blossom doughnut when Elijah was younger, and some choice phrases from some of you were so excellent I copied them and mailed them to OH to make her laugh :) in particular, as an American she was horrified at non-competitive sports days!

So we're in California, 18 hours door to door travelling on Wednesday... good seats with BA, they gave us a bassinet which was quite decent but of course Elijah was much too keen on seeing and climbing everything and flirting with passengers and crew and generally wriggling. I think he only slept about 3 hours total on an 11 hour flight, despite going looooong after his bedtime.

He crashed out for a bit on the drive to FIL's from the airport, then we fed him a bit and put him straight to bed at around 5.30pm pacific time (1.30am by his internal clock). He slept 5 hours, had a feed, slept 3 hours, had a feed, slept 1 hour, had a feed, wouldn't sleep any more. So he was up from 3.40am, so we were too... spent 2 hours feebly playing with him then were the first customers at a very nice local cafe...

We woke him up from a nap this afternoon to try to help get his bodyclock on local time, and he was SO UPSET :( for literally an hour he just cried and burrowed his face into things and clung and would barely open his eyes :/ eventually he got his second wind though, ate some supper and went to bed at 6. It'll do! Fingers crossed for something nicer than a 3.45 start again tomorrow :)

Bruno, I wish I was in America:D I hope all your body clocks adjust pretty quickly, have a lovely time:D

I've been up since 5am, the little monkey decided it was time to get up and just kept grinning at me from the cot. I tried a few times to leave him, to see if he would go back to sleep, but he just kept shouting, and to save him waking the whole house up I brought him downstairs. He has now fed and is snoozing away in his swing!! Not much point me going back to bed now as the big boys will be getting up any time now.

On the plus side......I realised we hadn't any bread left:o, so being up so early gave me time to whack a quick one on, and it will be ready at 7.45, leaving plenty of time to make sandwiches for the lunchboxes:p I've also done a wash load, which is now drying and a big pile of ironing:)

    Morning all..

Hurrah for that feeling of having had an elephant sleeping on my chest.. Think the tablets for the milk supply have kicked in! ;) Only thing now is that I think I have a blocked duct on the right side as I only got 25ml from the right boob in the time it took to get 50ml from the left, so am hoping a hot shower and a bit of massage will sort it out :)

scruffy, I'm glad your dad is home :)
mel, that's a lot of domestic goddess-ness to fit in already! ;)

Hope everyone has a good day. I'm off into work to have lunch with my colleagues, then have to fetch a lightswitch for our builder, order lots of things for the house (doors, fire, fireplace, towel radiator and light fittings ), possibly go shopping for towels, and then be back here for 3pm for my friend visiting so that she sees Rhys before going to Thailand for a month! :) Can you tell I picked up my car last night and feel like I have some freedom back? ;)

Good news Elle, you sound all bright and efficient this morning, but not as efficient as redmel who is clearly going for domestic goddess of the day today.

I'm supposed to be going out for mojitos tonight, Yay! The baby has been projectile vomiting since 6am, boo! Hopefully she will stop soon and I will still be able to go out, its like she's got a 6th sense for being left at home with Daddy.

Won a bumbo on ebay last night, can't wait for it to come now.

elle its amazing how such a simple thing like driving makes you feel so free again isnt it!

i'm fed up to the point of tears with seth and his ridiculous sleeping habits, was up at 5am for the second day in a row today and for the last week or so he simply refuses to sleep without a fight, and i do mean a fight - temper tantrums in the form of kicking, screaming, punching and scratching, i've actually got proper scratches on my arms and chest, i look like a cat has attacked me!
its been getting progressively worse and yesterday afternoon he was awake for 4 hours as he refused to accept he was tired after 1 even though he was yawning and had huge red eyes, i gave up and put him in bed and attempted controlled crying, going in after 5 mins then 10 then 15, this went on for another hour, my neighbour knocked to ask if we were ok - she thought i had gone out and left him cos he screaming so long! he went off during a feed eventually. cue OH telling me its my fault cos he's not in enough of a routine when all i do all day when he is off is tell OH off for not abiding by my routine!
i am taking him to my nans later and leaving him for the afternoon before i go completely insane. i really feel like i cant go on like this. at least when we move out of this poxy excuse for a flat i will be able to shut the door on his tantrums.

Morning all. Thought for today - why do I bother buying baby toys, when she would much rather play with my car keys :rotfl:.

Izzy is 16lb 3oz now, and is slowly moving down from being over the 75th centile about 6 weeks ago to being almost down to the 50th now. If she carries on like this I will speak to the HV, but I'm sure it is nothing to worry about. She is growing and eating and pooing (accompanied by great groans and moans to let everyone know!) and smiling, so that is good enough for me :)

Anyhow, must get on - off away for the weekend - my Mum is coming to fetch us some point before lunchtime, and I've not even started yet!

Who wanted jazzy baby clothes? :)

I've just been browsing (honestly, I was looking and all these things FELL into my virtual basket! ;)) Asda's baby clothes and they have some bright stuff online right now :)

Just bought Rhys some bright sleepsuits - all the proper premature ones (3.5-5lb) just seem to come in baby blue and white. We've bought 8/9 sleepsuits and 4 vests but they cost about £70!! Sometimes the nurses put him in the hospital things and I've now looked at the labels and found they are Asda/Tesco "tiny baby" size which is actually 6-7lb but they don't look too huge on him despite him only weighing 3lb 11oz right now! Have ordered some bold colours with animals on to jazz him up a bit :D Also just couldn't resist the cow fleece to match the cow shoes I bought ages ago and a dressing gown with a hood and ears (in bigger sizes for the future obviously!) :o
