...Hermoine - I hope things get better for you at work. Maybe you could carry a notebook with you when you talk to your manager, then, when she arranges something, you can note it down in front of her - that way, she won't be able to say something different.....
I was about to suggest the same thing - I've done this to good effect and it is very useful to have as a back-up for when you are "accused" of having done something the "wrong" way. RedRuby & Pooky's suggestions are excellent ones too.
It IS bullying by the way, it's an insidious sneaky way of undermining someone's confidence - probably because your new boss is feeling insecure and worried about their own position now you have come on the scene.0 -
morning everyone.
Bedding in WM at extra wash setting as I've had a tummy bug so want it all fresh now I'm begininning (oops, will leave that!) to feel better. Have had a few bugs this winter/ spring. I work in a college and I think that since EMA was introduced, we get students coming to college who should be home in bed. They need a dr line or appointment card though if they have been off so most just come in (and spread their germs). I've been washing my hands and using gel but I suppose sometimes you just catch these things. Anyway, I think part of it is my own fault as I've stopped taking my iron tablets which I was prescribed more than a year ago. Silly woman that I am. Thought I 'probably' didn't need them so I wonder if I've got a bit run down. Ah well. Will start them up in a couple of days as they are quite strong on the tum. Any advice on build-me-back-up food would be great. I made some veggie soup yesterday but felt |I'd overdone it for the day. Unfortunately my freezer is nearly empty of HM food as I'm aiming to defrost it. Hhhmm..maybe chicken soup? Will ask DH to buy some portions on his way home and bung some together this evening I think.
Sorry for me me me Been feeling a bit stressed at house just on market and moving in Sep. I might be going ahead of DH and dogs.
(((hugs))) to those feeling low.
Penpin - hope you have a good, relaxing time away.
Will water my plants and then head back to bed for a while. Am going into the spare room now that my bed is stripped. Musical beds.

Hi all. Just wanted to wish good luck to all who are taking exams today. I know how stressful it is, from the student's and parents' point of view!
RedRuby - I'll sort through the photos I already have on Picasa of our place here, and I'll take some more at the weekend, and get them on FB. I might pinch your veggie boxes idea - I showed DH this morning and he said he'll help me with the boxes. I don't want to dig the garden up for veggies because we have a persistent mole here (or moles, judging by the mess), so boxes will be ideal.
Flissh - we are not on mains drainage here, so we have a 'fosse septique' underground in the garden. Luckily, it doesn't need emptying - we just have to put a sachet of special bacteria down the loo once a month. It's a complicated system but takes care of itself. It just needs inspecting every now and again.
Well, better do some work!

Hi all
I am new here so hello to everyone. Just thought i would start a new thread which is really to help me save money stop spending money online and on food when i am bored at work and to make savings so i have a bit extra money each month.
I am currently working in a really boring job which isnt the best paid job in the world (but who's job is at the moment). But i also work alot of over time which makes the wages up.
So today is the day that i am starting a fresh i have already brought my own food with me which means no trips to get crisps, chocolate or sweets.
I also have about 15 items on ebay and amazon which then stops me shopping online as i log onto ebay and see if i have anymore bids when i get bored.
My aim today is to spend nothing as i am working from home tonight doing overtime which means i will not be tempted to go out anywhere and i will be home earlier tonight which means i will cook rather than go to the takeaway.
I have also sent an email to a agency asking them if they have any temp / part time work.
Is there anyone who would like to team up and make some changes so we can help each other with this?0 -

Morning All,
Been feeling like a bit of an OS fraud the past couple of weeks. Not much OSing at all going on. I think it's been down to all the items we have had to get for the new house, although we had saved up a fair bit and taken anything free that has come our way, there has been little or no OS going on sadly.
So I had the idea this morning to put up a weekly Thrifty OS reminder in the house. Probably on the fridge or somewhere prominent which will show about 5 tips each week from Martins Thrifty book to try and keep us on the straight and narrow:money:
So anyway it's a nice day here and hoping it stays dry for OH to put some washing out later. Have HM lasagne for lunch with yogurt and a Mr Kipling apple pie:o
Not much other chat really, hugs to all those in need..2 days until the long weekend:jSpreading the gospel that is Martin Lewis to the future generation....I'm a Home Economics Teacher and being thrifty is the way!:A0 -
We started to walk to school this morning only for it to start chucking it down! So we ran back and got the car (it takes an hour to walk there and back so DS2 and myself would have been soaked) We've been doing some baking, apple and cinnamon cup cakes and chocolate car cakes:j. I've also put the chicken carcass in the slowcooker to make some stock. I need to have a look on the flylady thread to see what I'm supposed to be doing today. My parents are coming up for half term so I'm trying to get the house nice and tidy!:o Hope you are all having a nice day!0

Good morning from sunny (please let it last) Manchester :j
Moiliere So pleased you are getting settled!
Essex Girl Great news about DH
Hermoine I agree with the notebook idea. ((((hugs)))) for you dealing with it.
Bargainbird How are things with you? I miss your posts. Also Anniestar hope you're ok too. (((((hugs))))) for you both.
(((((((((hugs))))))))) to anyone else that would like one & good luck to everyone taking exams.
I've been shopping for more food supplies this morning but have deliberately planned a cheap couple of weeks as I want to reduce the grocery spend as much as I can. It's taken me a few months to get used to feeding 6 & I feel that it's under control now so I'll drop by £50 a month I think and see how we get on. The extra money saved will go towards having some fun with DS3 in the summer holidays - the other 3 would do anything but come out for days with DH & I nowadays :rotfl:
Dinner this evening is sweet & sour chicken with rice. There is some pasta bake left over from last night so I'll have that for my lunch :T
Nic1lou2 My Dad is improving quickly now that he's home, thanks. He walked about half a mile with Mum yesterday, uphill, to a farm shop near them to place a meat order. He had no symptoms or pain at all so he's very pleased. He's decided to have the other two arteries operated on in a couple of months then he'll be running marathonsI'm so pleased that the mistakes that happened haven't put him off. He's made of strong Yorkshire stuff
Well I'd better get the shopping put away before the dog & cats dive in to see what I've bought!0 -
Good luck with your work Hermione. A Notebook is a great idea. Though I have had someone fabricate one about me. In my last job the kid there was almost a workplace bully of sorts. I wouldnt have it as I have faced her type before. One day I had to use her desk while she was on holiday and some people were meeting my boss. I was looking for her stapler as I couldnt access mine. In her drawer I found a totally made up diary and stack of emails she had written to my boss about me completely turning everything on its head saying I wasnt up to the job etc. In fact it was me who often covered up for her mistakes and her who had done things she had accused me of. Suddenly I was no longer surprised by her tales of not getting along with staff in pervious workplaces.
Many are the people who can put on a nice face.
Witnesses might also help you Hermione. Also suggest getting things in writing via email.Cover your back.
Best of luckWhat Would Bill Buchanan Do?0
