Good afternoon folks,
Well I had quite a nice day I dropped the three little lads off at school this morning and then decided to venture down to my local shopping mall and have a look at the 1d bazaar in Marks & Sparks.
It was chaos down there, folks had been queueing since 0.7.30.a.m. and they didn't open until 0.9.00.a.m.
After about 50 minutes the queue had dwindled down, and as tail-end charlies my new found que-buddies and I all got 'lucky bags' with five bits of what was left for 5p a bag
I had three tins of ginger beer and two bags of sweets so it wasn.t too bad. But then had to go upstairs for a pot of tea and a sticky bun which cost me £2.29 to recover from the queueing:D .But I had a good chinwag with some other ladies and a bit of a giggle about it all. Then went to W.H.Smiths and used my £5.00. McDonalds voucher off £15.00s worth of books so they only cost me a tenner so again not too bad as I managed to get some books for birthday presents. Then sallied forth into Sainsbugs and bought some of their lovely angus steak which is to die for, and a whopping great lump of brisket beef (£4.00) which has gone into the freezer and will be got out just before I go on holiday in August.I thought if I SC it the day before we can have it sliced with pickle and mash when we get to our holiday house Forward planning eh.Then I managed to buy a nice big noisey Hummer Car for my youngest DGS's birthday which is due shortly, and got 25% dicount off that as well.I was really on a roll by this time.Decided I would just have a 'wee look' in M&S's food hall.Blew the budget there on some lovely Clementine fruit juice and some strawberries & cream so tonight I shall be dining on angus steak and strawberries and cream. my DD just texed me to say she has sold her first house at her new job so I'm really pleased for her she only started last week.
So all in all I have had quite a good day and although I saved a bit I aslo bought some really nice treats as well.No more shopping for me now though I am determined to eat that freezer down before I go away in August. Hope everyone has had as good a day as I have and that the sun has shone for you all
Cheers JackieO xx0 -

Evening all.
Sorry to hear you havent been well wmf - tummy bugs can really take it out of you, chicken soup sounds a good idea.
I don't feel like I've been doing as much OS cooking since we've been dieting as its usually something simple like fish with salad or stir fry.I used the MrS basics salmon steaks tonight in the Remoska topped with ground chilli and garlic.Very nice, even DS2 who used to grimace at fish enjoyed it
The yog maker has been on,and I've strained it through a muslin square, lovely and thick now.
I bought Anthea Turners book for £1.50 from the charity shop, sure its never been opened. Most OSers will be familiar with what she says, but reading it spurred me on today and I've decluttered some of the bedroom drawers. She likes white vinegar too
Hermione-I hope the good suggestions above work for you and you feel happier at work soon.I was once in the position of not sleeping and worrying about work and its horrible.Hugs to you.
Have a good evening everyone.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Good evening all and welcome to the new(to me anyway)bies
Hermione - do you have a union rep at your work - even if you're not a member you may be able to get some advice. i think that just the very act of her seeing you write everything down may make her think twice about changing things
Was it frissh who was going into town to get a life - could you be a darling and pick one up for me while you're at it - I seem to have mislaid mine about 20 years ago - more so in the last three weeks trying to get a grip on this new job. My trainer seems to always be in trouble for one thing or another so i'm not confident that i'm being shown things properly.
forgot that dd(12) was at Debating Competition tonight and that she has money for tea with her friends. might carry over today's dinner and just have something eggy tonight. Oh well must go and start my evening job of Cook/Cleaner/laundress and general listener of other people's woes - sighI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Evening all,
Had a hard day mixing cement and re-building part of a stone wall but I'm so pleased with the outcome.
DD1 phoned and asked me if I could have DGD for a couple of hours, silly question. I jumped in the shower at 5.10pm all cleaned and ready to have her at 5.30. DH & SiL2B took their 2 Labs for a long walk then collected DGd at 7pm.
Just read a few posts so off to catch up.
SUNNY, Glad to hear your DDad was able to have a good walk.

Evening, everyone. It has been a bit of a busy day, planning wise for the wedding and whatnot and it got pointed out that it isn't far away now (indeed a day doesn't go by where someone says that). Lots to do! I tried on my dress again last Friday, and the weight-loss (well, negative-shape loss actually) have made it look really nice. I've just got a few more bits to get on the dress front, and then that part is out of the way. So far I've got something old, something new and something borrowed, but I can't think of a something blue. I shall keep thinking.
I ordered the favour bags today, and have LOTS of Mini Eggs to put in them. No one I know really likes the traditional sugared almonds, and it wouldn't be my wedding without there being chocolate there. Still got to do a dry run on the cake, and myriad other details to sort yet. It leaves me wondering whether I'll get it all done in time.
Work is doing the usual - being busy. I have been very good when I've been into town at lunchtime and only bought what I need. Got caught in the rain (massive amounts of it there was too) last night, which didn't encourage me to hang around the high street before the bus arrivedI was rather pleased with going into Mr Ts and not coming out with a load of stuff. I had been slipping into non-OS ways! I kinda rectified that though. Last night I had some leftover noodles from our meal, and meant to leave some of the sauce so I could take them for lunch. Trouble is that we both like that particular sauce (Thai red sweet chilli) and I didn't set any aside! Instead of buying lunch, I had my leftover noodles with a good squirt of barbecue sauce! Won't be doing that again
Anyway, hope something randomly good happens for us all, and have a nice evening. ((((hugs))))
