To anyone still using vouchers in Safeway:

I've just been told at Safeway that they're turning into Morrisons next week and won't be accepting vouchers any more so make the most of your vouchers this weekend while you can.

Can anyone confirm what Andrea says?!

When is this policy due to happen?

    What is Morrisons coupon policy?

Has anyone been to Safeway today and tried coupons?

Believe it or not but about a year ago I bought £57 worth of goods in my local Asda & presented £54.56 of vouchers. I had no problems at all at the till (I went during a quiet time). When I asked if this was a record the girl on the till said that someone had used £117 of vouchers on a £125 shop the previous week! ;D

    Hi Heldaz

I suggest you just take them along every time you shop, hand them to the cashier saying "can you see if any of these will go through?" and see what happens. I've had cashiers in my nearest Tesco tell me one day that they don't accept the Sainsbury's ones and yet another day had them accepted in the same Tesco by a different cashier ::) ;D

    Hi everyone,

I've done the Safeways coupons trick this morning and used 5 £2 Durex coupons. :D:D:D

I had to speak with the manager and make him to phone to the Headquarters but i've got my money back.

I think that the best thing to avoid embarrassment and jam the queue is just to pay in the till and then go to the customers desk, that's what i did.

I think I'm gonna buy every single morning till Morrisons take Safeways.

btw, I live above Safeways haha :):)

Thx a lot Andrea ;);) for all your advice and info

    Ivan

Excellent stuff Ivanch. :) Did you use a cashback card to pay with?

Thanks should go to Lawnmower Man really. I'm just kind of thread-sitting till he's back permanently. ;D

Aye aye I did use it.

then thx to Lawnmower as well :D:D:D

My question now is, do you think i can do it twice a day? I mean this evening. I just live above Safeway so it's not a big hassle for me.

I just want to know if Safeways coupon policy is restricted to once a day

I don't know Ivanch. In the last two weeks up to last Friday i went on a Wednesday and a Friday. The last time I went the supervisor said the policy had been discussed in a branch meeting and they'd decided they could only accept 3 vouchers :(. She also pointed out that it wasn't long since i'd last been in. Thats when she told me they'd be changing to Morrisons this week anyway and that they wouldn't be accepting vouchers then.

Still, i don't think you've got anything to lose by giving it a go. If you make sure you buy things that you would normally buy anyway or something on offer this week, then if they accept them its a bonus and if not, then you've not spent more than you normally would. :)
