Scottishmummy's Life and Debt Diary

Meant to say - saw online that Lonely Planet have put the beach at Calgary Bay, where we are planning on camping, into their top ten beaches. Hope this doesn't mean it will get extra crowded. Couldn't get tickets for the earlier ferry that we wanted but will still go for that one in the hope we get on as a standby. The earlier we get there the better as there is only enough room for about a dozen tents.
Now know of at least one other family (2nd unconfirmed) from this village also going to Mull next week so may be able to meet up with them if need an excuse to keep kids occupied. The person who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones.

Thank you, Just my ramblings down on screen instead of said out loud.
Typical, today was actually really quite hot but did I see any of it? No! I was doing extra hours:mad:
Nice to see someone else from this area. PM me if you feel like admitting where exactly and we can keep each other company in our debt free quest. The person who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones.

Schools out for summer! and so am I..........well for a week and a bit.
Should have been working this morning (extra hours) but decided i had far too much to do here before we go away so I just went in for my regular hours this afternoon.
Got lots done in the garden otherwise we would be entering a jungle on our return. I am the only one here that will eat strawberries......what a shame. DH will eat them if they are incorporated into something, like a cheesecake but no one else eats them raw. There should be quite a few more ready this weekend and hopefully the cherries will be ripe enough for picking by then too. Potatoes have had the shaws covered again, peas growing well but far from being ready, couple of carrots had already bolted so they have been pulled. Must keep an eye on the rest of them. Beetroot still has a while to go. DH made a start on cutting the hedge. Should have been done weeks ago but it was never dry enough.
Long range forecast was looking a bit dodgy yesterday with chance of precipitation at 60% but looked again today and it has improved to only 20%. I'm happy with that. The person who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones.

Okay, going to do a list of everything that needs done between now and Sunday night. If it's on here I can't turn around and decide it doesn't really need done and not do it.
[STRIKE]
Check banks and move money if necessary
[/STRIKE]
Do menu plan -> Shopping list -> shopping
Finish equipment list -> check equipment
Clothes list -> Find and sort clothes -> Wash any -> pack
Wax legs, underarms, bikini line ouch
Clear kitchen and livingroom tables
File paperwork
Finish sorting bathroom
Find bucket and spade and sunglasses
Fill car with petrol
Think that is it. At least I have three days to get it all done. The person who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones.

Cigarette lighter not working is worrying. Without it we have no airbeds,no phone charger and no Nintendo's (to keep kids happy if weather is miserable).
Looks like we might actually need a new phone battery as phone no longer holding a charge for more than a day.The person who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones.

Hi there just had a read through your diary. I was on Islay last week and we had fabulous weather and kids had a ball. Ferry was £80 for car from Kennacraig and £15 for me and £7.50 for the kids. I love island life so much lol. Love the fact that everyone gives you a wee wave when they pass you by. Enjoy your break x5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.000 -
Thanks for popping by MIT. Ferry for the car and four of us is £72.88 with a five day saver ticket. Although DD doesn't really count as she is still under 5 so she goes free.
Anywhere on the west coast is great but the islands are definately the best. The person who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones.
