Have started on a couple of the other things on the list but not done enough to score them out yet. Quite pleased with myself as usually I am Mrs Procrastination. Obviously putting the list on here for you all to scrutinise and tut tut at my lack of completion helps.

Buy mobile phone battery - not going to bother with this one. Will just have to keep phone switched off unless we actually need it.

Spent £69.72 in Tescos which includes tea tonight and three meals a day until Friday lunchtime. DH will need to get fresh rolls and some brown sauce which I forgot to get, on his way home in the morning - thank god for 24hour shopping.

    You're nearly there -

Have a good holiday when it comes. And rather than buying a mobile battery - it might be worthe buying a really cheap phone from one of the supermarkets & transferring your SIM over. I have this idea that batteries are expensive & phones can be cheap - but as I'm a mobile-phoneophobe (I still don't do texting) I might well be wrong

This is going to be my last post for a wee while. I have the two tables to wipe down and about a dozen items of paperwork still to be filed. Didn't find spades or sunglasses but what the hey. Will frontline the cats too and then it is bedtime. Getting up at 4.00:eek:am. Kids were remarkably easy to get to bed - wonder why.

My shorts that I haven't worn since the last time we went camping - 2 years ago - no longer fit so have cut down a pair of scabby paint covered jeans. Hows that for MSEing?

Take care everyone and see you Friday or Saturday

I'm back! Have been for a few days but catching up on washing, mail, emails and have finally caught up on all the diaries I am subscribed to. Haven't posted on many yet but shall return tomorrow to do so.

Holiday was good but already a distant memory. Driving to Oban was very wet but Oban itself was beautifully sunny. Didn't manage to get on the earlier ferry but it meant we were first on the one we booked which meant we were first off on Mull so clear roads all the way to Calgary. While driving in the sunshine on Mull it said Fife was flooded:eek: so we left at the right time. The camping area was nice and quiet and we got the tent pitched with good space around us. Kids went straight to the beach. We did get some rain early evening but it was gone by the time we went for our before bed beach walk. We made that our ritual for the holiday that no matter what time it was we all went for a walk and paddle along the beach before bed. The latest we went was about 10.30 but we went shell searching and didn't get back to the tent till after 11.30pm. Kids still got us up at 8.00am though. I didn't sleep too well as it was colder than when we have previously been and I didn't bring any extra blankets. Just had to wear a layer of clothes over pj's and cuddle up with DD.

Did lots of walking and only went in to Tobermory once for fresh rolls and cakes. We didn't buy any souvenirs - no need to we've been there twice before and there are no new souvenirs.

The bad news is though that since we have been home DH has had no work:eek::eek:. Thankfully he is finally out tonight but things have been extremely tight moneywise as being self-employed there is no holiday pay, so he has earned nothing for 11 days and what he earned 12 and 13 days ago had to go towards his franchise, as well as a further £90 I think it was out of our bank account. So he has brought no money into the house for a fortnight. He actually had to take £20 out of DD's bank account yesterday just to buy food for the next couple of days. Our cupboards have never been so bare. Tax Credits go into the bank tomorrow so we can pay that straight back.

In amongst the mail was the annual notice of Direct Debit from NTS and the AA. It looks like we are going to have to cancel both of those or at least cut the AA one right back to the basic premium. It is just so reasurring knowing they can be called on especially with the age the car now is (10) but there is no way we can afford the full package anymore. We had been saving our tesco clubcard vouchers to pay for the AA but just after we renewed last year they changed from AA to RAC. Might look at RAC packages.

Good grief i have just looked at how long this post is, time to stop methinks.

Glad you had a good holiday & glad to see you back

We're with the RAC & often if you're a new customer you get good deals (& remember to go through Quidco)

    Will catch up later
