That is weird Scottishmummy, I was just looking at my subscriptions and noticed you hadn't posted for a while! I'm finding it hard to keep up with everyone these days!

Hope the weather is good, if like last week you'll be laughing!

Have just checked the 10 day forecast for Tobermory and so far up to Tuesday next week it is light rain and cloudy. Glad i am not going this week as it is rain all week until Sunday!

  • Well it has ended up being a couple of weeks since I last posted. Work has been very busy, looks like this month has about 50 extra hours in total:j but it has been hard going. Have another four or five extra hours this week then on holiday from Friday.

Have all the camping gear looked out, just waiting to check the long range forecast for mull tomorrow then will buy ferry tickets. Even if it is forecast light rain we are going as we really need a break. Money will be very tight but if we spend most of the week on the beach we won't need to spend too much. Children have started counting down the days.

MSE stuff - found 2 x 20p in a couple of lockers at the swimming pool. Made apple and cherry crumble with the last of last years apples (frozen) and 49p cherries from Aldi's. My cherries are not quite ready yet. Have had my first strawberry - only one ripe. Peas, beetroot and lettuce growing well. First two lots of carrots doing really well and have been eating the thinnings as baby carrots. Second two lots are not doing quite so well - not sure why.

I am sure there was other stuff I wanted to report here but can't remember now.

Off to put a mention on a few diaries. Have been keeping up with them as now have them on email reminders, just haven't logged on to add anything yet.

    OOh enjoy your camping trip:D

Way to go on the 20p's, sniffles proudly:D:rotfl:

Shame they weren't the non dated new ones. So so miffed as I have definately had at least two of them - noticed they had no date but didn't think anything of it:mad: and spent them again. One just sold on ebay for over £5000:eek:.

Where oh where is all this sun and heatwave that the whole of the rest of the country is talking about. I haven't needed to water the garden since last Wed. We have had rain, fog, mist, more rain, more fog and a bit more rain then about an hour of sun this evening just before the haar descended:confused:

Ferry tickets are bought so no turning back now. Looking at the ten day forecast the weather isn't great but even if it turns out to be a washout at least we will have gotten away for a week. Still need to go through clothes to see if anyone is needing anything but I am fairly certain we have everything.

Have just eaten 3 home grown strawberries and killed about 40 slugs. Think the Lollo Rossa is going to have to be declared the sacrificial crop as the slugs are the same colour as it and so hard to find. Cats have been going to the loo in my herb bed so have covered it with wire until everything fills out a bit more.

For some reason smilies are not working again. And it keeps squashing everything into one paragraph. I typed this as three. Just edited it for the third time to try and fix it.

Trip sounds fab and love Mull. I hope you have a wonderful time.

Have you ever taken the wee ferry over to Iona? Took Small Boy a few years ago and in the tranquil cloistered atmostphere he slid on his bum down a big grassy mound, stuck his hands down his pants and declared to the entire island "Mum I've got a massive wedgie". Never been barred from an entire island before :o

Yes we went the first time we visited Mull three years ago. Got there nice and early before all the crowds but didn't go in to the actual abbey due to cost:eek:. Just walked around admiring everything outwith. Left the island just as the busloads started arriving.

That sounds exactly like the type of thing DS would do. For some strange reason he enjoys wedgies and was walking around on sunday in his pants looking like a sumo wrestler after asking me to give him one of my power wedgies:eek::eek::eek:, strange, strange boy.
