I ordered my on 27th October and STILL not arrived :(
    [/QUOTE]

Have they contacted you to say they have been shipped yet?
  • Hi there - long time reader of this forum, but never posted,

I ordered some specs from these chaps, they were dispatched on the 7th Nov 2009, still not arrived, I have emailed them twice, both times I got a response telling me to wait 15-25 days for delivery, both times I have pointed out it has been longer than that.

They also said they will not take any action until the 12th Dec.

Am I unreasonable in demanding they either send out new ones ASAP or issue a refund?

Hi, I have just checked this and the 25 working days is on the 12th December as suggested in our email correspondence to you.

We have sent out emails to customers with outstanding orders explaining why there is a delay, this is due to delays in Hong Kong caused by the vast number of items that are shipped out of HK at this time of year - this is affecting a large number of companies and not just us.

Apologies, but any outstanding orders will arrive in due course.

    Kind regards,

    Thanks for your reply,

None of your email correspondence you sent me quoted WORKING days, I have ordered 2 separate items since ordering from you - both originating from Hong Kong, both have arrived within 10 days, im afraid your excuse for slow postage is a bit poor.

I also have a colleague who ordered the same day as me, got despatched the same day as mine, his arrived well over 2 weeks ago now, mine either have not been sent or have got "lost" quite clearly.

I would never recommend selectspecs based on my personal experience, I can see others have glowing reports, but to wait this long for something only to get poor communication when you have a query/problem is frankly unnaceptable.
  • Just to add my agreement that the website and terms and conditions all say just "days" and not "working days".

Remember that the Distance Selling Regulations say that the consumer has a right not to accept a revised delivery timescale and to cancel on those grounds. This right is not affected by the exceptions in other terms to custom-made items which Selectspecs try to infer.
  • I also have to agree. Another member ordered on the 30 Oct and they were shipped on the 7th November. Both arrived together on the 17th November. Mine were ordered 3 days BEFORE them on 27th October. The Hong Kong post are singleing out specific people are they?

Are we being punished by Santa for not being good little girls and boys? So how long do we wait before they decide it is actually lost?

Getting grumpier and grumpier by the day!
  • Yesterday I received my second order placed with SelectSpecs - 2 pairs.
    Order placed 16th November.
    Notification of shipping 21st November.
Notification of delays shipping from Hong Kong due to volume of goods at this time of year 27th November.
Arrived yesterday 10 December all OK. Great!

Really happy with 1 pair - excellent.
Not happy with 2nd pair, but its no fault of the glasses, they just don't look right on me.
That's what you get when you can't physically try them on at the time of purchase.

I guess that's what the Distance Selling Regs. were aimed at, but for £5 it just doesn't seem worth the bother of returning them, even if I do have the legal right.

    Ho hum!
The bankers stole my pension (and everyone else's). It should have earned a lot of money, but they took their bonus pot first.

Oh well, you have a spare pair in case of emergencies. Mine still haven't arrived. Had an email a week ago saying they expect them to be with me in 3 - 7 days, but reading through this thread I suspect that may be a little optimistic. I got all excited for a few days. Lol. :p

I am also having problem with selectspec delivery.Ordered on 09/11,recieved e-mail stating shipped on 17/11 with an estimate of 10 day delivery,so far no sign of them.
However other items I have ordered from HK after 17/11 have been recieved so what is their latest excuse.
  • For what it's worth, I've ordered a number of items though a well-known auction site from HK and I've found delivery times to be a bit sporadic. Mostly, stuff arrives within a week or so, but it can take a month. I've never had anything go missing, and none of my friends have either - but occasionally it can take an age. And of course, we're entering the xmas postal silly season.
