:confused:We are proud parents of twin boys at different universities. Our combined income of just over £60k mean that we are entitled to nothing in terms of available grants. Is the threshold still the same if you have two children staying away at university at the same time?
    Thanks in advance

I assume you mean that they're not eligible for grants!

There is an allowance of (I think) a couple of thousand but it's not going to make much difference with household income this high.

    Hi all,

I graduated in 2007, and owe approx £13,000 on my student loan but as yet havent started paying anything back because I work outside of the uk. I currently earn £17,500 per year and was wondering how much I would roughly be getting debited out of my monthly wage if I was paying?

Also should I make an enquiry into starting to make these payments and get the payments rolling?

    Regards

    Kyle

You should have informed SLC as soon as you left the UK. I think the amount you pay back is dependant upon where you currently are.

Go there log in etc. and contact them.

    Ah not like France ;)

Um not sure then, I would still contact them on their website to see. ONW may know but not sure but she'll come along and say something if she knows.

If you are taxed in the UK then your self assessment calculation should be deducting your loan repayments. If you are taxed in Ireland, then you need to be declaring this as if you were living abroad.

Not sure about that, but make sure you are paying taxes correctly. If you are employed in Ireland but permanently resident in the UK for tax purposes, then you need to be declaring that income to HMRC and paying UK tax on it.
