One thing that has surprised me in the thread is the number of people who appear to have sampled floor sweepings at some stage in their life. :D

And with your 28p for 80 bags bargain you are probably one of them! ;)

LOL. I genuinely couldn't say something tasted like floor sweepings owing to the fact I have never tasted floor sweepings. Have you? :D Similarly I could never describe a certain beer as tasting like gnats pee for the same reason...

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??

    Have a free cup!

Tuesday June 3 has been designated National Cuppa Day on which every independent c-store, newsagent and rural shop will have the opportunity to give customers a cup of tea and have a chat

This is Britain! Why on Earth do we need a Cuppa Day?

I concur - Sainsbury's do the best Earl Grey, with Clipper running a close second (though this is hard to get hold of). I haven't been to Asda for a bit but last time I did their Earl Grey came in £2 bags of 25! We get Twinings EG at work and it barely tastes of anything.

My tip if you like nice tea is to invest in a strainer or a 'tea ball' and leaves. It works out a lot cheaper. Whittards used to be great for teas but they seem to have moved more into china these days.

Tesco are selling their own brand normal tea at 99p for 80 bags at the moment.

If you are a tea drinker, and like nice tea, my mum's just told me that the place she got her tea machine from, is currently offering some good deals on loose tea. There's £4.99 off sencha tea using code TCLUBSENC, and a free tea gift pack worth £14.99 when you purchase a tea machine, using code TCLUBMAC. The codes were in the newsletter she got. Not sure if you need to sign up for the newsletter before you can use the codes. I asked her to get me some tea on my behalf. Have a look at fine-t.co.uk.

    Hope this helps.

I thought that I had gone off tea and didn't drink it for about a year. I realised that it was because I was drinking Tetley and I didn't like the taste.
I find the same with most branded teas but enjoy Sainsbury's and Tesco's RED LABEL teabags.

Ringtons tea is the best around and they even deliver to your door

I'm in the pursuit of the perfect cuppa and just looked this site up. It has lots of tea facts and many types of tea. Worth a look!
I have contacted them to see if they supply samples and am awaiting their reply.

yes i never get any more than 1p a bag... less even better
  • The pound shops do Tetley and Typhoo for 100 bags a quid. Absolutely fine tea. My personal favourite is Yorkshire but it is expensive.

I always resent paying 60p plus for a cup of tea when out at markets, sporting events etc as it is such a massive markup. That's why I invested in a decent thermos!!
