Sadly I don't have any other cards. Should I load the card before I go, don't want a big bill I can't pay when I get home

A great time to come to the UK as a American.

Would appreciate any new info in this thread though-- have to buy dollars (with sterling) for US holiday in 5 weeks. Worried.

SWMBO and I plan to spend 120 days a year, 60 at a time, in the US for the next 2/3 years, we have bought a motorhome. Cards like FairFX are useful but I'd like to stick £1000 on Currency Fair marked up for a good bounce, that way I get a better deal but perhaps more importantly I don't have to watch it. The thing is I have nowhere to put the $$ if I do. Any really good USD accounts for UK residents?

I'm a Brit that moved over to the US 7 years ago. I was on this thread alot back then when transferring pounds to dollars!

Would be a good time to bring the family back over but I'm out of holidays and Disney sucked me dry of $$!

    Hi, Neil!

How are you and the girls doing? It would be a great time to come over. DS was just here, with the job, so only catching up with friends for a weekend and us, mum & dad, in between.

We're off to the USA in two weeks. We'll have to count the pennies!

apparently QE more probable then rate changes. Im only optimistic for sterling if it crosses 1.34 confidently and then there is a 2yr downtrend with 1.44 as best case for now

What's the consensus on the exchange rate post Brexit? Will rates pick back up to 1.4-1.5 ish or are they expected to keep dropping?

Been working abroad and I've brought a wod of notes back with me...just wondering if it's worth getting them swapped or not?
