The company offered a price/rate and you took them up on their offer to purchase at the said price, wouldnt say thats stealing.

    absolutely.
but the point is, you all KNEW the price was incorrect

you hear stories of cash machines giving out free money, and people rushing to get some before it all goes - i think its similar to that...

who is right and who is wrong is not up to me or anyone else, its all down to how well you can sleep at night...... ;)

    His analogy is wrong though.

    no its not

its all about knowing you have received more money than you should have, and seeing if you can get away with it.

I havn't received any money

I would have paid and received was was offered.

In your analogy I will have received more than what was offered and what was paid for.

    Very different.

think you are being a bit pedantic old chap
you know full well what i mean

you knew the offered rate should have been around 1.60, but it was saying 1.89 on their website, and people tried to grab it

therefore, IF the deal had gone through for say £500 worth, you would have received $100 too much because of their mistake, compared to the REAL price at the time

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
I see both sides of the coin, IM has a point but at the same token it's their mistake and the rectified it pretty quickly.

Maybe it's all you swines that have the rate collapsing ;)

  • 14:04 03Jun09 GBP/USD: Stops Below 1.6480 Tripped, More Pressure on PM Brown

[13:03 GBP/USD: Stops Below 1.6480 Tripped, More Pressure on PM Brown] London,
    June 3.

Cable has tripped sell stops below 1.6480 en route to a fresh intra-day low of 1.6456 as the USD continues to benefit from today"s Reuters-reported expression of support for the greenback from unnamed officials from India, South Korea, Japan and China. GBP/USD traded as high as 1.6653 shortly before the tape
bomb (following May"s forecast-busting UK service sector PMI).

The Guardian website reports that a group of Labour MPs have begun soliciting signatures for a round robin letter calling for PM Gordon Brown to step down. There are claims that the letter could be delivered to Downing Street as early asmthis evening. There are English council and European elections tomorrow (Thursday). The European election results will be disclosed on Sunday.

May"s US ISM non-manufacturing index will be unveiled at 14:00GMT, alongside
US April factory orders. The non-mfg index is forecast to rise to 45.0, from 43.7
in April. Factory orders are forecast up 0.9%, to follow a 0.9% drop in March.

The rate was wrong, I knew it was too high, they offered a rate and I accepted. If they had of sent me the amount of $ I ordered and taken the amount of £ they asked for then everything would have been above board, we both would have got what we asked for, nobody would have thieved anything.

If I had of opened the envelope and they had of included $100 bills instead of $50's and I had not of told them then you have a point. But between me ordering and them sending there is a human interaction in packing the money up.

I guess I need to go around with a price comparison service in my head every time I buy something in case it is wrong? Otherwise I am similar to a thief. I feel really guilty in getting a £99.99 book off amazon last week for £9.99 now.

Your analogy is wrong, simple as that. Why not just admit that and stop being so patronising old boy!
  • !!!!!!???
