    (just a bit of fun!)

    http://worldfantasyfootball.skysports.com/

I have just set up a SkySports World Cup Fantasy Football League if you are interested.

Its FREE to enter with Sky,

If you played in the Sky Premiership Fantasy Football competition last season, you can still use the same email & password to log in and pick your team.

You can pick no more than 2 players from 1 Country.
This increases as the tournament goes on.

30 transfers available throughout the tournament.
(15 allowed in the Group Stages, and 15 again in the Knockout Stages)
So pretty much 1 transfer per day on average.

You can pick a team now, and you will have UNLIMITED transfers up until the tournament starts if you do need to tweak your team before Friday.

Come on, make games like Slovakia v Paraguay interesting, get into the World Cup spirit !!
    Good Luck

Once you have picked your team, you will then need the League Pin: 46695
(give me a shout if you need any help joining the League)

I'm applied to join the group.
I'm in Vegas 19 - 23 June so my substitutions may be limited :) (IE - I'll be far too drunk to think about doing them)

Nice recovery by cable there but the Dollar marches on and as of Friday is stronger then ever. Im not sure its going to fall back, I see further rises for dollar and so invariably lower sterling worth most likely

    img12759217508472177437.gif

See the top horizontal line there 87.5, thats a rung on the ladder. Dollar went up because euro is going down, generally this is bad also for sterling dollar as it causes fear of weakness

1.4507 now so on the upper chart this is below the lowest horizontal line (inverse to the example here)

I'm going to the dominican republic at the end of the month and i'm taking dollars. Should I be buying them now or closer to departing? I'm only taking $500, would I be better taking less dollars and opening the nationwide account?

    Found on 'worldtraveldotcom'

Money: The currency is the Dominican Republic Peso (DOP), divided into 100 centavos. Many of the hotels and restaurants in the main tourist destinations display their prices in US dollars as well as in Dominican Pesos, as US dollars are widely accepted and some places will also accept Euros. The peso cannot be exchanged outside of the Dominican Republic. Major currencies can be converted into pesos at Central Bank approved bureaux; only 30% of the pesos bought can be re-converted and this only if the original receipts are produced, so it is best not to buy more pesos than you are likely to need. Major credit cards are accepted everywhere, but a commission is usually charged and it is recommended that you only use your credit card at the hotel as fraud incidents have been reported. The best exchange rates are paid on US dollar travellers cheques and secondly on US dollars cash and are best exchanged at exchange bureaux (casas de cambio). Banking hours are Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.30pm; some banks also open on Saturday. ATMs are widespread.

Or you can buy pesos in the UK at either Thomas Exchange or Thomas Exchange Global, both in the West End (of London, not Glasgow!) They do deliver...both are good value. So judging by this article, take US dollar travellers cheques, change them when you get there, and maybe get some pesos from here. Or, take pounds (English notes, sorry) and exchange them there in a bureau de change and you will save the expense of changing you money twice. Have a good trip

    Sinbad,

the reason we're taking dollars is because English money is just too hard to come by in the quantities we need and Halifax, Alliance and Clydesdale all refuse to change our money over as there's nothing wrong with the Scottish notes!

We've spoken to the resort and almost everything is charged in dollars so we're not too fussed about taking pesos especially as there is a law that you need to convert $100 or equivilent to pesos on arrival anyway (though apparently that's not enforced) but we think that will be enough pesos for what we have planned outwith the resort.

I didn't make it clear in my post that there are 4 adults travelling all taking $ so about $4000 in all as I've still got dollars i've not changed since i was last in the US (bought in the days where you got $2 for £1)
