Very positive cable right now, I would repeat the sentiments of 3rd Feb in that either it falls from here or it marks the start of a longer recovery. Last time I said that it fell horribly but I cant say I really know which way it'll go.

I have also heard on the wire 1.51 is projected estimate for cable

On the positive side the US Dollar index appears to have lost the important trend support its had since Jan 13th. It could mark a tide change though Im personally not optimistic because it has snapped upwards too quickly to be sustained

Watch out for 1.58 tomorrow, if we get that I expect a more positive cable going forward
  • Morning all 1.5777 currently, would be nice to see a push over 1.60 soon
  • Big losses for the pound

A double-top pattern could suggest big losses for the pound, possibly down to 1.50.

[14:53 GBP/USD: Recovery Envelope Pushed, Sovereign USD Selling Noted] London, February 18.

Cable has notched a fresh European afternoon/NY session high of 1.5675 after pushing its short covering-assisted recovery envelope from an eight-day low of 1.5557 (plumbed just over an hour ago). Good size sovereign selling of the USD has reportedly aided the climb.

    1.5683/88 is a resistance window beyond 1.5675. 1.5683 was today"s early
Europe high. 1.5688 was today"s Asian session top.

February"s Philly Fed survey will be released at 15:00GMT, alongside US
January leading indicators. The Philly Fed index is forecast to rise to 17.0,
from 15.2 in January. LI are forecast up 0.5% month-on-month, to follow a 1.1%increase in December.
