Looks like the £ hasn't done too bad today.. Morg - can't argue at that rate bud
Just finished for the day. 0020 local time. Up at 5am this morningjust got a cold one out of the fridge.

Has anyone looked at http://www.thomascook.com/money/travel-money-voucher and there 1% cashback and free commission. Trying to work it out if its a better deal than travelex but my heads hurting with thinking too much.
Going to the US next saturday and need to get about $1000.
Other than that, I cannot find a local better deal.

Here is some simple mathematics for you!
Thomas Cook
1.5352 + 1% = 1.550 = $1550
Travelex Collection
1.551 = $1551
no1currency = stores nationwide
1.551 = $1551
crown currency = deliver to your home on 8th June!
1.58 = $1580
fairfx card = 7-10 day delivery
1.59 = $1590
Hope that helps!0 -
i have to say, the fairfx card rate is very close to the wire rate, at $1.59.... the $2 charge to withdraw cash on the card is where they make the money, but if you're sensible and only make large withdrawals, at fee free machines, then it is really competitive...

As I leave next Saturday, instead of taking a huge amount of dollars with me, would it be better is I took say $300 and then got the rest out using my nationwide flex account as it used the visa rate. Ok - it will cost me $2 a time to withdraw, but I plan to use the cash for drinks etc and then my nationwide cc card for meals.
Thoughts?
