Pirefly I love that. Thing is would only look good on a thin ten, for the drape, or a thin twelve. A curvy eight or ten wouldn't get a way with it so well. I'm also still sighing ovr those lovely marbley ones back a bit in this thread in the blog FC linkd too.
I'm actually trying to cut a pattern ATM, its so simple -its for a bag, one I already have, couldn't be a simpler shape but I'm finding it really hard. Then I have to cut it, and then take the leather to a saddler and smile winningly whil saddler curses over guady leather. If it works I'm going to get some more leather from my Venecian frind who prints marbled leather and do the same again.0 -

You could call it ''Murketing''..it's in my brrrand book.

ok OK don't rub it in! :P0 -
Yeah I'm hoping that the dress might stretch a size and I might shrink a size before the twain meet.
The print is outrageous isn't it. Its from my friend's MA collection, she hand-draws it all herself then has it digitally printed onto silk. The reason it only comes in a size 10 is because (unbelievably) she only learned to pattern cut when I did last year and she's not quite grasped the basics of grading yet!!
Has she got more fabric? To grade that would be simple. Just add 2cm down each side seam, drop the armhole 1cm (and add to length 1cm to compensate) add to shoulder line about 1cm, i wouldn't worry about altering the neckline. That would add one size.0 -

Hey, I'm not...I love it, but to be thin enough for that shape dress I'd be an eight, and still not flatter it.. All three sizes are memory for me ATM anyway. My incentive dress will be incentive:o.
Your friend is very talented. All these talented people, I want some creativity next incarnation please!0 -

My parents met when they were both pattern cutters. Very good at it too (unlike their daughter), a dying art in this country. Can you try and think of the three dimensions of the bag in two dimensional terms? You know, like if you took the six sides of a dice it would unfold to make a cross, what shape would your bag make? That's what I do if I make patterns for things (get the basic shape down then worry about the dimensions once you understand its make-up). Mum also taught me to make that up in muslin before going any further, though I don't know if that would work with leather goods. Though fc will probably tell you that I'm talking cr&p and will in all likelihood be right. Incidentally, parents are the only people I know (fc may also too), who sharpen their scissors. I have a thing about blunt scissors.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Add dog groomers to you list of scissor sharperners.Like crazed beings about their scissors. With horses I used to used clippers and razors more often, but scissors too, but you can tell immediately you try to cut if your scissors have been used especially if not on hair. These days I let my horses grow their hair, and I think I prefer it, aesthetically. (have to comply for appearance when competing).
Yes, I can picture it flat, but its got curved lines....:o:o:o, I need to buy a flexirule.0 -

For me ... I'd look like a bag lady in that... I'd definitely do those leggings/shoes though .... for fancy dress at the local pub, after dark.
Oh PN:rolleyes:
I have shoes for that dress as it happens. I don't think the size ten would look any good on me at all, Dawn and I might have trouble with arm holes, if nothing else. Har to tell from pic.0
