'tantrums, tears and tiara's', and all from the male posters. Come back Dopester and everyone can kiss and make up. :kisses:
Dear me....everyone was getting in 'a stressy' today...must be the heat.
Oh well, had a few Q's answered, albeit indirectly.
DS 's dog doesn't look like it has it's moult hoovered (as it may go up the tube due to being a petite, girly doggy) and I haven't read todays entry about the watch.
I save it for 'end of day' reading to mellow down.
Where have all thanks come from for the entry post? Has Mewbie seen them?;)
Just to say, I have been inspired and am deffo going to sort mine out soon...once I have finalised my shop lease stuff (imminent), sorted out some fashion politics, have my other new label up and running and feel a bit calmer about everything.
Incidentally, I had a random e-mail today from a young girl, starting out, wanted me to look over her shop lease 'deal' that was sold to her as wizzy, wonderful, fantastic for her. Also very misleading too on get-outs.
Not.
Dire, rip off lease that will take her down if her venture doesn't work. Shopping centre too....half the chains have left....it's that bad.
So, if I get around to doing it, hopefully it would help someone else starting out not to make the mistakes we did many years ago....if it shows up on a google search.
Dopestar and Max..agree to differ and then smile
The rest of the board has.....umm...changed somewhat recently....there is only this thread that I feel able to post on now.:o
So, pls can everyone be 'Frrriends' again0 -

Good luck. Must be difficult in current (economic) climate. What is your target demographic? Is it good quality upmarket? The cheap end is awash with the likes of primark and tesco.Favourite hobbies: Watersports. Relaxing in Coffee Shop. Investing in stocks.
Personality type: Compassionate Male Armadillo. Sockies: None.0 -

Been at it for a long time....all this making stuff busybusyness
I already have a label that has a particular demographic...but feel the need to divert for a while....mainly as I am running out of things to wear myself.
It's something I did before..selling to my own niche demographic and, due to lots of requests, am going to get it going again. Just been difficult to fit fit in this past year.
Just to say, it is possible to make some styles of clothing in UK, be profitable and not sell at sky high prices (more mid price).
I have just read ''I'm with the brand'' by Rob Walker and there was a bit in it about blogs. I will find it and type it out later as it connected to Max's blog experience.
The one thing I can say about Primark is it is a very transparent. What you see is what you get. There is almost an 'honesty' about their brand. It's cheap, the maker probably didnt get paid that well (pennies probably) , but, hey, that's what their customer wants.
Tesco...don't get me started. Oligopolistic bullies.....0 -

I went to Tesco the other day (don't like it, but its the nearest to my house and was in a hurry). Was shocked to see that they now have their own line in body fascist dresses. Fluorescent pink, crimpline-like fabric, sizes up to 20. Just wrong on so many levels.
Nearly threw up over the own-brand cornflakes in my trolley. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? LiR, you will from now on always be the Vice of Reason to me.

IKWYM!!!!
I have never posted it before, as never relevant, but I have a few labels, not known ones, that we used to sell in our own store.
Used for different looks/themes/demos.
Essential if one gets known for a particular look or style or one gets 'Brand Trashed'. It's quite common at my level of the market ('the invisible people'..and yes, I have used that one years ago on tees) to run items with different labels...the diehards always find you...or you pick up a whole new customer base for a while. ...then re-invent again when it has run it's course.
We earn from the units we sell, not press, not celeb endorsment, not from copies but just £ per unit sold. If one lets ego get in the way, then it can be difficult to continue if any of the above happen to you as you get typecast.
The brand book was quite comforting as it touched on it though as A New Thing.....but we've always done it. So I feel quite 'smart' now.:o
I am thinking Max may have Brrrand issues to contend with after a while.0 -

Am all in favour of incentive clothing. I currently have a pair of incentive trousers. Absolutely lovely, but it would be nice if I could get one leg in, let along lay on the bed with a coat hanger and do the zip up.
