I have read all the thread thank you.

If you going to quote someone then at least use the same words that they did.

Regards customer service, i think i covered it in my last post:
Its how we deal with them that makes the difference. Since you have now been kind enough to add some detail about AC's handling of the matter then obviously their CS is not up to scratch.
Anyway i'm retiring for the evening, got a long day making inaccurate number plates tomorrow.

Been a pleasure talking to you, i hope CID and the Crown Prosecution find AC guilty as charged and you get your compensation (as previously defined and then re-defined by your good self).

So you'll have to wait until tomo for more rubbish.

    Night mate!!!!
  • Well I don't know about you guys but I could see the OP simply wanted a car for free and a wodge of cash too, hence my tongue in cheek comment in the first reply.

I didn't foresee the man with 20yrs experience at Halfords was going to go potty.

Beware of imitations e.g. Robert Sterling

Its ok the rubbish will stop. After all ur going to bed. Yip a long day ahead of you probably going by the quote "I'm really not bothered wether it technically illegal or not" your probably in for a day of stealing cars, and robbing old age pensioners. So i will inform you about what happens with CID and MI5 i've also got CSI on the case. So hopefully they'll get back to me asap. Good luck with the stealing cars maybe you could take some of the dodgy plates you said make with you, they may come in handy!

You just away and talk rubbish to someone who actually cares about your opinion.
  • Its ok i've realised i've got more in the tank yet. All though if i get theiving tomo on your head be it. Don't let any of the facts that your so proud of get in the way of what your writing will you.

Aww did i get under ur skin son. Maybe you should go to bed you'll need all the energy you can get to think up more of the same rubbish you've been spoting on here tonight. And rest those wee legs of yours, you'll be doing a lot of running 2morro. I'll tell you what son, i'll end it here, i'll be the bigger man, after all i dont need any advice anymore (not that i got any) so no point wasting time replying to your nonsense. So enjoy your sleep, p.s dont forget to iron your black and white stripped jumper and you balaclava for 2mora. :rotfl:
    Nightnight son
  • Let me build you a little picture of what you have said over the last 10 or so posts, perhaps you'll understand why you've had a bit of a back lash:
Should i maybe think about contacting a lawyer considering that this is quite a big mistake to be made
So can i say that this is a breach of contract, hand the car back and recieve a full refund of money paid to the car from when i got it on october last year.
    Should i contact the police?
So before posting idiotic replies then engage your brain before opening your mouth!!!
It's funny how your saying get over it but the police who i have gone to see and a lawyer are taking the manner very seriously indeed
Considering i am training to be a Adi, this "Small mistake" could have ruined my new career
There attitude was a disgrace. And sarahg1969 what the hell are you talking about
Thank God not a Car Salemans tho
This is my favourite i think, don't know what is wrong with salesman??? After all it was the bloody parts guy that made the parts wrong.
I am dealing in FACTS you are dealing with stuff you have made up in your head
    Interesting

    Ah a nice touch!

No not at all pure amusement factor i couldn't tear myself away.

I wish i could read more threads from people trying to rationalise calling the cops and getting a lawyer involved because someone got a letter wrong. Its been enlightening, to re-use something i've said previously: I guess i've found the reason Starbucks put warning hot drinks on their cups.

To clarify the v5 number is the same as the other documents. The reg was the wrong number. Now i have been to seen arnold clark who had the cheek to want me to pay for the new plates even tho it was there mistake. I didn't even get an appology! I told them not a chance and after telling them i had gotten legal advice, they paniced and changed the plates. There attitude was a disgrace. And sarahg1969 what the hell are you talking about. Of course it was an inconvenience. Having to sort this problem out and being told i had to pay for the new plates and having to go to the police about it. You don't call this an inconvenience? Listen! This was someone elses mistake, not mine! I was the one that had to fight to get this resolved!! So YES it was an inconvenience. OK!

Yes it was Arnold Clark's mistake, and technically you were driving with false plates the whole time which could get both you and the dealer in trouble.

Glad you have it sorted now even if it was a hassle. They should've just replaced the plates without giving you any grief. I would still be worried about the competence of that dealer, and would check one more thing if I were you:

Check the VIN number listed on the logbook against the VIN number on the car, this can typically be found either at the bottom of the windscreen on the outside, or in the engine bay, either on a little plate or stamped onto the metal somewhere.

There is a possibility that rather than give you the wrong numberplates they actually gave you the wrong car. This could cause you all kinds of problems when you come to sell it, or if the vehicles identity ever comes into question for some other reason (eg recovery after a theft)

Sorry to alarm you further, but better to be safe rather than sorry.
