I like the air-freshener effect I must admit. I buy them in Poundland or Wilko's.
Family usually buy me a Yankee Candle for Xmas and they can burn for hours but not cheap and I don't know of any other brand that is so "smelly" . Or try an oil burner - warmed from underneath with a tea light, put the oil in the dish on top and hey presto it perfumes the room and beyond for hours. Cheap after the initial outlay.0 -

A dark glass bottle is better if you have one, it lasts longer. And distilled water if possible. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
The Air wick plug ins are good. I saw on a property programme once that putting a tray of flour in the oven is good for making your home smell nice (the smell of freshly baked bread).Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670

Bake some bread.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

I have a copy of the nostalgic cook book by Bill Habets, it has a recipe for a spray deodoriser, 2 cups clean water, 2 tbls white vinegar, 1 tsp bicarb, shake well after mixing and at various times while spraying, havent tried it. I have a great crop of sweet peas and a bunch of those make the house smell nice, I like hyacinth bulbs for winter and spring.0

I have had good experiences using lemon juice spray for getting rid of odors.
I also find that an ordinary perfumed detergent powder makes a more than serviceable alternative to Shake-n-Vac.0
