Get yourself a 'Mortgage Pig'

Inspired by this thread and excellent idea, I got myself a mortgage pig too. We have a page on the fridge explaining why we want to stop paying our mortgage in 2015 instead of 2030 (scary!).
Our pig is called Bacon (pronounced 'Beer-can' as I bet you can't say beercan with out sounding like a Jamaican saying bacon.....) and his favourite food is £2 coins. YUM!
The teenagers were mildly amused.
Now, the naughty bit. I saw this fella and I fell in love so I spent a silly £10 on him. But my crazy logic is he's going to save us thousands.

First time I've posted (although always on this website). Just had to say this is the best idea ever. Bought a pig a few weeks ago and he is proudly sitting on my kitchen worktop. He is called Gordon (after Mr Ramsey who is always in the kitchen like my piggy!).
He is fed everyday. The usual routine is for either me or hubby to feed our goldfish and Gordon at the same time - sad I know but it seems to work for us and he is now a fully fledged member of our family.
Again - Brilliant idea !!!!:jAugust Grocery Challenge £98.47/£200 :j0 -

My piggy (sharps bin) is overflowing so I have had to transfer to a biscuit tin.. and started refilling the sharps bin again. I get about £15 in the bin and so far have £32+ .. I counted it as I transferred it to the biscuit tin.. I just need to get a new account sorted so I can put the money in the bank to use.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

I've just seen some fabulous money boxes witches!! I may have to have one of those.. They sat on a shelf and had long dangly thin fabric legs and a BIG round tummy to collect the money!! .. I may have to just have one of those.. instead of a porker! ..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Just had another count up and have around £40.00 in notes and small change, to add to the Nov payment. Also going to raid the £2.00 Large Smarties Tube Collection, which is around £60.00, so should have have another £100.00 off this Month. Another good month.0
