I wouldn't say I'm obsessed or anything but the thought of being mortgage free in 5 years or less is holding my attention! I keep thinking even a few pounds will lessen the interest so its keeping me quite focused, we are not suffering for it as its extra money we wouldn't have had so its a win win situation, the only thing I kick myself for is not doing it sooner! the added benefit is its getting rid of clutter and our ceilings are not threatened with coming down due to the weight in the loft!0

Just had a cheque for £36.46 from one of my paid2clicks!!!! So its going straight into my mortgage!!!!0

Its great when you get a cheque thats not really cost anything, I loved the one from barclays home insurance test - if they didn't beat your quote they gave you a cheque for £50. They must have liked me they sent me another one a few months later! Managed to put together another £200 and have another £110 coming that I know of.0

That'd be nice! I just keep thinking at some point it will come to an end of the several hundreds but while I can keep plugging away, I'll try to keep you a**e out of it though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The funy thing is although I tell you lot on here mr HQ knows nothing about it! As far as he's concerned we are overpaying a little each month, and we have 13 years left to run, if he thought I could rustle up hundreds a month we'd ended up buying more stuff! Thats where I went wrong in the first place!! He pays the mortgage but has no interest in finance and leves it up to me, be lovley to tell him one day we're paid up and I've saved enough to take him on a world trip!!0 -
where on this earth do you find all stuff to sell?Mortgage free 04/03/2025. Thanks to this site and lots of overpayments bit by bit.
Next stop: house repairs, holiday fund, replace our very old cars, more financial security/early retirement savings.🤞0 -
Just paid in my second amount, only able to do 5 bags of change(@Nationwide), but some of the notes helped, but very happy with progress in the last few weeks. The Wife and I are now on a push till our first child arrives in Mid Jan.

Hi All
Haven't paid anything in yet as this is our first month with Percy but I have come across about 10 bags of change in the loft
Have also joined the Sept '06 grocery challenge and it looks like I might be able to save about £200 a month :j
