He has also spoken to the occupational health at work, and is being allowed to return to work at reduced hours for as long as he needs after his recent colitis episode. Which is good, because i really don't think that sitting at home all day does him any good. (or our finances, if i'm being honest). Just hope he can cope at work, with the side-effects of the steroids and pain killers he is taking.
Just tell him to take it easy and pay particular attention to when he is most sore. Chris is usually at his worst first thing in the morning so he is looking for a job in the evenings or a slightly later start than most (not easy BTW !!)The two best things I have done with my life

Thanks MM. He usually works Mon-Thurs 10am - 8pm. But has to leave for work at 8.30am to get through the traffic to Manchester. He works in customer services and i actually think the needing to (TMI) wee all the time may be a big problem. - One of the side effect of the steroids that seem to be effecting him greatly. Also may not even make it through the car journey without needing to stop. Also the constant eating. Can't be stuffing your face whilst on the phone to customers. In fact his increased huge appetite has become quite laughable. He is never satisfied. May also try to be moved to a more adminstrative roll away from the phones, this may help. Heres hoping.0

Phew. I just vacuumed most of the apartment. But I accidentally sucked up a plastic bag and I think a couple of scr!ws from the open computer on the floor. How does a person go about seeing if she's broken the vacuum cleaner?Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

He's fine
Coped really well with the few seconds he was off all type of support and he's now enjoying being able to open his mouth, stick his tongue out, yawn and sneeze!
They need him to keep his mouth shut to keep the pressure up, but he wouldn't do it so they're thinking of giving him a dummy to fill the gap - asked if we had any objections
I assumed that's from a nipple confusion point of view but obviously that's not an issue at the moment. Someone correct me please if you know of a different reason!

Elle, good news about Rhys, he is a lot stronger now than on day 4-6, he will do just fine. Don't expect to see a lot of your HV, Rhys will be under consultant care and HV are only there to do developmental checks which wont apply to him. You will see her for his jabs and thats about it. However, it is good that she is nice
I also get !!!!ed off with the 'as long as baby is healthy!' Would you really just leave 'it' at hospital if they were not healthy? I'm more for 'as long as baby is happy', cos 'as long as baby is alive' sounds a bit too depressing!
Who was asking about glucose tests for high BMI? Mine is 33 and I've not been told I need one
Nancmat, I also faced a termination, medical problems rather than your problems, but got a second opinion on the day. Our little bumps are here for a reason eh?0 -

bumble - I was watching a program on TV last night. A woman had had 1 child and then tons of miscarriages afterwards and couldn't figure out why. Turns out she had a blood clotting disorder and was just really lucky with the 1st pregnancy...she did finally get pregnant and carry baby to term but had to have special injections once a week to do so! Hope it's not that, but just to say there CAN be treatable reasons for your MCs.
Aless - sorry to butt in but this sounds like a problem my wonderful SIL is having. Any chance you can remember which programme this was. Be nice if I could let her know so she can catch it on iplayer or similar.
Thanks xxxxCross Stitch Challenge member 11 - May challenge well under way

tia, I hadn't thought about jabs.. When premature, do babies still have the jabs at the usual times as if they'd been born on their due dates, or earlier - like in Rhys' case will everything be 9wks earlier than it would have been if he'd come on his due date?
Was also thinking earlier, I'm not sure when to fill in all my tax credits and child benefit forms.. He's not out of the woods yet and I really don't want to send everything off then have to write again with bad news, but isn't there a deadline to apply otherwise they won't back date it to his date of birth? I had three months in my head but I'm not sure if that's it.. anyone know? Think I might leave it for a few weeks yet..0
