mrs m i feel silly ranting on when you have real problems :o x

Thats daft :o, we all have different problems which are just as important and traumatic and unfortunately real.

I have DH and both DD's doing a massive clearout today. Its not the ideal way to spend the bank holiday but it so needs done.

Is it sad to love the smell of bleach :o

When I got up to use the loo this morning, the bowl was filled red, I think I passed a few clots, but the bleeding has now gone brown

I have promised DH the next sign of red bleeding I will phone the hospital.

Mrs M, I'd ring the hospital now hun, that doesn't sound too good... I know things aren't as good as they could be at home but you really need to think about yourself and this baby... I know you're looking out for your children, but if anything happened to you, where would that leave them ultimately?
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

MrsMoc - I'm very concerned about u but not saying anything cos I know you know what to do.

Krystal - thanks for that. Makes it a bit less daunting, I really hope I can BF. Now I know I have milk ducts and I have feeling in my nipples even though they were detached and then reattached it's promising but not a foregone conclusion.

Must go and wash my hair now!

I know holding off from the hospital is risky, thankfully I do live close. Any red bleeding this week has been only trickles. The minute it starts to drip consistently I will be gone asap. The hospital said brown blood was good as it meant the fresh bleeding had stopped.

I had a long talk with DH this morning, explained how I felt. its so much easier to talk to him once the drink has gone completely out of his system for a few days.

The tension has eased, he wants another chance at looking after the kids and says he will be at the hospital every morning at 8.30, so he can prove he has not been drinking, it all seems so much like the usual promises though. Once again he is very apologetic. The biggest problem though, is I actually need him at the moment. He says he is only realising now how serious all this is.

I cant be left alone with the kids at all, so sending him on messages, or locking him out will only cause a whole new set of problems.

I feel like im stuck between a hard place and a rock

    They were doing it wrong!

Sometimes, at the beginning especially you can get sore nipples if your positioning is not optimum... It more likely at the beginning because it's a skill you have to learn, you need to learn how to position the baby, the baby needs to learn how to get on there properly to make it work... One of the worst things newborns do is only take a little bit of nipple into their mouth and then suck the rest in... This results in a 10 second toe curler at the start of a feed, but then because the nipple is then in the best position the rest of the feed continues pretty painlessly... A lot of women carry this on because they think it's ok... If you start the feed making sure baby has a big wide open mouth and takes as much nipple in to start with, then the 10 second toe curler can be avoided. ;)

Mine are still sore :rotfl: dunno that I'd call it toe curlers though

MW thought it might be because my nipples can be pretty flat and the boob is rather *cough* large so the baby can struggle a little getting loads in her mouth... we'll keep practising though but for now we're going to do 50/50 Bf and expressed feeds - just to give the nipples a chance :)
I can now personally recommend the Medela breast pump! :T even with sore nipples it didn't hurt in the least and very easy to use.
Yes it was £90 in Toys'R'Us but I think I'll get loads of use out of that!

right - off for a nap - labour dust to all who need it! Specially Krystal - I'd be going nuts by now if I were you!

Oh my god, we've just ordered our pushchair/ pram! Found one that we both really liked and couldn't resist the 24% off at Mothercare this weekend, even though it's way too early! Still, saved £70 plus get £14 cashback which is a substantial saving for us.

It's this one http://www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-mychoice-3-wheeler-pushchair-chassis/dp/B001NM0NIS/sr=1-1/qid=1243257135/ref=sr_1_1/276-3485433-0149352?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=42805041&mcb=core. Tried it in the shop and loved it. We've gone for the three wheeler with a red cover.

    where is everyone?

i managed to flick the wireless button off on my lappy - took me about 2.5 hours to work out why I couldn't connect to net!!!

Been very busy - my kitchen looks amazing, althou like MM all the clutter has ended up in the dining room.

3rd load of washing finished, baby clothes folded just need to put in storage bag, huge batch of mexican chilli chicken cooked, just waiting for it to cool so I can freeze it and made flapjacks :D:D

still loads to do but just having a rest as I don't want to wear myself out!

Wish it was a bank holiday every weekend!

Thanks for the fab BS Mrs T and congrats on Lexi (beautiful name)

I'm in exactly the same position...

Leila is feeding happily from my right boob, and I think we're just starting to get there with the left one (after 9 days). I can only feed in the rugby ball position at the moment (with lots of pillows!) - but it seems that as she gets stronger and more feisty the better she's persisting and doing better with the other boob.

I had an Asda Tommee Tippee Manual Breast Pump but on the first day back from the hospital I sent OH to Boots to buy a Medela Swing. Best thing I've spent £90 on in a long time. It's kept my milk supply up fantastically in the neglected boob and also given me a couple of breaks in the afternoon when OH can take over.

The manual pump just completely frustrated me in it's flakiness (kept losing the vacuum) and made my nipple sore.

I have had a little soreness, but have kept up religiously with the lansinoh cream and just kept relatching her if it was hurting for longer than literally a couple of seconds. I can't say the soreness has really been a problem at all past day 6.

Huge labour vibes to Krystal and Candice - hope you both go tonight!
