  • Hi Ladies

Sheesh - am never going to catch up! Just back from hols in Cornwall with a definitely bigger bump (maybe it was all the cream teas?:o)

Had a little scare while we were out there - Cub didn't move for 3 days but the lovely lovely midwife at Truro hospital said come in and she found the HB instantly, took my BP and dipsticked my pee as well - all fine! Cub is now making up for lost time and is very active. DH always sings 'do a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight' when she's squirming around

But otherwise hols was fab. We have form for not being able to relax, always doing something, but we actually managed to do some chilling out (and a LOT of high calorie eating) Lovely walking along the coastal path and climbing on the rocks (she is going to find us SO embarrassing as we love playing!) Collected a load of worn glass and shells from the beach to make her a little mobile thingie for her window should I have an artistic moment :D

We're now 24 weeks which I think is when bubs have a chance of surviving outside, which DH finds both scary and exciting. Friends of ours had theirs at 25 so the thought that she could be HERE in a week  But hopefully not and will hang on to her til full term.

Had a massive consumer spree yesterday - got a lovely baby rucksack thingie for DH to carry her round in and a play gym called, guess what, Lil Lion  (with little safari animals hanging down) and loads of other stuff.

Right, that's me - will now try and catch up on all your news. Congrats to those who have given birth!

can i ask you lovely ladies what you ll think of this travel system

That looks lovely Jillie. The only thing I will say is that it looks like it only faces backwards in the carrycot/pram mode. My friends little girl has been facing forward since 4 months (through mums choice) and I have decided that I would rather baby was facing me until she is quite a bit older. A matter of personal choice but one you need to consider.

    thanks harley.
i can see that baby would be looking at us while we push them as a pram but can see that after the pram mode and it being used as a buggy they would be facing away from us. i have no idea how long we would use it as a pram system though. what i thouhgt was that as baby is due end of sept, a pram would be nice and warm over the winter and then use as a buggy from when they are about 6 months. maybe i need to buy a pram for now and a buggy later? i am struggling to find a good alternative that isnt too expensive but has everything we want.
its hard buying a pram/pushcahir that ticks all the boxes.

Jillie, have you looked at the My Choice at mothercare?

    http://www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-mychoice-4-wheeler-pushchair-chassis/dp/B001NLZ0NW/sr=1-1/qid=1243237207/ref=sr_1_1/280-5542940-5465848?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=42764041&mcb=core

Chassis comes with either 3 or 4 wheels. Without the car seat (which said friend is giving me) it is £350. But til midnight tonight, online, if you use the code mentioned on page 124 and the automatic 10% bank holiday discount it will come down to £280. Maybe worth a look. I'm not buying mine until tomorrow as I want to use their baby plan and mothercare card to get all the benefits but when I get back from tesco I plan to give the store a ring and ask if they will match this deal for me. If not I will probably order on line and just check at the store tomorrow that it will fit in the car. Though my boot is pretty big so I shouldn't have a problem.

    Right, off to Mr Ts

Catch you when I get back

    jillie - I've not got a pram.
I won't be goling out that much and when I do I think I would like to use baby carrier/sling for walks and things. Might regret that.

ATM we just have pushchair but that could change if I see a reasonably priced pram second hand

SM - come and join in!! I've already done a half hour challenge which I wouldn't have done (I would have probably stayed in bed!!)

Now having break for some toast and then back to it!

ML - welcome back! I get scary moments where I think I haven't felt bubs but I think that when you are more active you don't feel it moving.
Like yesterday and Saturday I way over did it and started to worry. Sat down quietly for an hour and he started kicking.

    Morning all :D

Not been on for a few days as have been spending time with DH and getting stuff done around the house.

    Catch up time first:

Sugarspunsister – thank you so much for posting your amazing story

Helen – Congrats on the confirmation of TEAM BLUE

Sami – Thanks for keeping us updated with Elle & Rhys.

Elle – Not sure if your reading or not but was in tears last night reading your story with DH. Our thoughts are with you, Rhys, Craig and your families. I have everything crossed for you.

Mrs T – HUGE congrats to you all and thanks for your birth story

Tickle – Isabella is lovely, you must be so proud

Glam – well done to you for getting motivated and getting things done. Before I got preg I used to spend a lot of time doing the old style challenges and things and since my BFP it's all taken a back seat. You've given me the motivation I needed to start again this coming week and hopefully get everything organised before bump arrives.

Beanie - Don't beat yourself up, I think your doing amazingly well

Sparkle – Your birth story was fab, being on the larger side I did laugh when they asked your DH why you were there as I can imagine being asked the same when it's my time.

That'll teach me for missing a few days :D

As for me things are going well, still struggling to get motivated so going to get myself cracking this week. 4 weeks left before mat leave starts and I can't wait!

Had a BBQ yesterday and it wasn't until then I realised how much I missed Pimms!!!! I'm praying that the bump arrives on time and we have a good summer as I don't think I could cope with not having at least one this season

Anyway, plans for today are going to sort out some things for FIL, look for a new washing machine for him then dinner with friends this evening. Also need to work out what I'm going to wear to work this week as nothing seems to fit and with 7 weeks to go I'm reluctant to go and buy anything :o
You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same

That's the main reason that we kept hold of our doppler. For the most part the baby is quite active, but if we have a day where there is not much movement, we can use it to double check the heartbeat and it's a bit of a relief.
