beenie - my dad comes on here every now and then and I wouldn't want him knowing things that I have posted on here so think it's normal!

Just realised this time last year we were moving into this house and now I'm spending the weekend sorting it all out.

Can't believe we have been a year and I am 5 and a half months pg - I always said I didn't want a baby until we had bought a house of our own but no way did I envisage thinsg moving this quickly!

Right my car is calling me

Lots of hugs and wiggly vibes to Rhys - Elle.

    Hi ladies

Have been keeping an eye on the thread recently but never seem to have the time to post.

Making time now to quickly say huge congratulations to everyone on their recent arrivals and to the newbies. There are some fantastic birth stories and photos coming in thick and fast now. Also passing on some labour vibes to those of you still hanging in there. :D

Not much to report on myself. I had my 24 week midwife appointment last week and she so kindly pointed out that my age, family history and previous history of large babies makes me an ideal target for gestational diabetes so will be having the "lucozade test" next month. I love lucozade so quite looking forward to that part. Don't mind my blood being taken either but am not looking forward to the starving myself.:rotfl:

Just a quick note to anyone who is trying to keep their birth as natural as possible. I have just finished reading Ina May's Guide to Childbirth which in my opinion is an absolute must read book. It will certainly help to relieve any fears you may have and reaffirm your ability to birth naturally.

Must dash now as going to collect DH from the airport after his five month stint in the Falklands. We have lots of catching up to do so not sure when I will be back. ;)

    Speak soon X

p.s. Special thoughts going to little Rhys and his family. :A

Get 1kg of mince and follow this recipe

    http://frugal-cooking.co.uk/recipe/193/batch-bake-minced-beef-recipe

She reckons she get 40 portions but I got 18, I like a bit of meet in my food.

I also bought a load of chicken breasts and have made some HM curry with some of it.

Tip - use grated carrots it really does bulk it out and you don't taste them and like GISI throw in a handful of porridge oats. I put lentils and peppers in mine!

Check out OS board, loadsa tips on there.

I made 'sortof' hotpot yesterday, 1 pack Lamb neck fillet (£4.50 tesco), 1 medium onion, 2 large carrots and 3 medium potatoes, a bit of flour on the lamb before browning and a splash of water, rosemary and garlic. Smelled deeeeeelish! will make suet pastry lid tonight

I love lamb neck I make it into stew as well with a tin of tomatoes, some lentils and what ever veg I fancy yum yum!
Very cheap stew can be made with mince if the lamb is too pricey/not avail I do love a nice dumpling too and they so cheap to make!

Why not try quiche. It is just as nice either hot or cold, will be lovely with salad and baked potato and needs no attention while heating up.

I am assured that once baby is here it will be a good 2 years before I have another properly hot meal so quiche, cold meats and pasta salad are likely to be my staples for a while. Maybe your OH would be able to help you with the cooking though.
