After reading this and the weird kids name thread i'm surprised i've never come across anyone mention my name! I'm scared to say it on here though in case anyone i know is reading.

It's not a weird name as such but i don't know anyone else called it, although some people have known others with it.

anyone wind themselves up so much that they make themselves cry!??
my OH isnt out today (which he usually is on a sunday), im gettin hair done, and last night asked him to start painting the babies room....to my surprise, he said yes.
so, then our friends stayed over last night, and now he has arranged to take the dogs out a walk with said friend (which will last roughly about 2-3hours!!)
so its now 12.30ish, they not going out for another hour or so......will come back fro dinner, and then he will have to mind DD tonyt cos im out at a concert......when does this leave time to start painting a room!? There is so also lots of stff that needs cleared outta the room before he starts, but ive just asked him if he would like me to help him do that befor ei head out, and you would think that it was HIM with the extra mad hormones roaming about his body.

probably doesnt sound that bad, sorry just on a rant.

Carla, sometimes you just need to throw a strop and blow off the cobwebs, enjoy it! Slam some doors, rant at a cup, throw a hoover!

Beanie, you have to say it now :P (and Adenine was a joke, it's a DNA base) *mutters about it linking to Thymine or Uracil in RNA*

Maya - yes it's my first, but I'm not sure what that's got to do with me being curious about why she'd choose an epidural when she's not that far gone yet.

Mmmm ... because you've never been through the birth process yourself, and so you are judging her based only on what other people have told you giving birth is like

And because you are listening only to those whose births have gone well, and are assuming that all births can be like that irrespective of the physiology of the mother, or the actual circumstances of the birth?

And because you are completely discounting the psychological consequences a very difficult and painful birth can have, which might well affect future decisions...

And all of those things on their own would be fine, if you didn't then go on to judge the mother for wanting to have control of her own birth to avoid these things happening again, even though you are fanatical about having control over your own birth choices, just have made different choices to her.

I have a friend who managed 23 hours of labour with nothing more than gas and air, but by that point was past the point of desparation, and agreed to her husband and midwife's encouragement to have an epidural. She did manage to birth her baby vaginally in the end, but was so scarred emotionally by her 23 hour stint that she has never been able to face the idea of another child, a decision which causes her and her husband a lot of grief. Until you've walked a mile in someone else's shoes you really can't judge.

That's exactly why I've never used my name. I have seen it occasionally in the newspapers and a TV producer shares it but I have never met anyone else called it before.

I want that sort of name for my little girl but am really struggling, they all seem to be either getting more common or are horribly chavvy! Why is it so hard.

Tia, I have been looking at Eva or Evie, as I think both are beautiful names and will suit her at every age. My dad is the same, if something is 'alright' we take that as very high praise indeed:rotfl:

beenie - you'll have to tell us now!

I'm a regular Vicki (not Victoria!)
Our fave name is Jack which has been most popular boys name for last 5 years - I would like something a bit more unusual but it's the one name me and OH agree on and that goes with his surname!!

Going to wash my car now
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Where does the time go?

Same here, i've always wanted a name for a girl which, like mine is heard of so not totally strange, but gets complimented on being unusual. Many of those names sound chavvy to me too though :o.

My name rhymes with first half of the person you quoted. But begins with the letter we all have in common.

    hehe cryptic
