He's doing okay. Set back last night as they had to put him back on the ventilator but it seems to be working for him and he's started improving again.

OH stayed awake all night so he's dozing now and sent me home for an hour. My mum picked me up - she's here with dad painting for us.

Going back for half one to do his "cares" - change his nappy (hurrah for the first big tarry poo this morning!), clean his mouth and change his probe (the glowing thing on his foot/hand). Amazing what they let us do - so scared to touch him!

Beanie, I cut down from 20 to 5 a day, then worked out that they just made me sick, so DS1 gave me a huge helping hand. You are doing great hun!

I'm studying like mad, more like cramming and going round the bend. Gave up on respiration, I just don't get it at all it's my nemesis!

Off to get a new washing machine soon, went down yesterday but Currys was shut and as we need it now, currys is the only place we can go to. They have some good offers on atleast, but bloody quidco has stopped giving cash back for reserve and collect!!! Btwards!

Oh, what do you think of Eve for the lil lady? DH says it's allright, which is the best thing he has said about any name so far.

Am glad that you can be involved in his care like that, I imagined the nurses would be doing it so it's great that you are getting the chance to get to know each other.

We've had a few more births recently inc. greent, Sugarspunster, tickle and finally MrsT but I guess Sami's been keeping you up to date the lil darling she is!

Elle, honestly he will amaze you on how quickly he will perk up. Cares are awesome, make you feel like you are doing something. And about the possible brain damage, I know more babies who had issues flagged as newborns who went onto be fine than who went onto have problems. He's a special little fighter. Well done on the expressing too!!

ETA, I did mention what I did to DS1 the first time I picked him up? Whacked his head off the tank, so if you manage to avoid that, you're doing better than me I dropped DS2 once too, into his incubator, he just sorta slipped!

Hi Elle

Glad Rhys is improving again today. You have been on my mind and I have had everything crossed for you. He is truely a beautiful little boy and looks like he is fighting well so hopefully they will let you do more and more for him as he improves.

Beanie, I smoked 20 a day for 20 years, I know how hard it is. You have done really well. My friend smoked up until she was five months preg and her baby was 10lb 5.5oz so I wouldn't worry too much. You are doing your best and that is all anyone can ask of you.

If you need OH to stop with you maybe you should duck tape his mouth shut, might stop the arguing too;)
