Hello Ladies,
I came back yesterday to spy on you all but this place was closed! Typical lol as I never have five minutes since Lexi was born - but I wouldnt have it any other way!
I didnt know Elle had had her baby, - Congratulations Elle and Im so pleased for you that he is improving again, will be thinking of all three of you.
Hello to all the new ladies with bumps youll be well looked after here!
Also congrats to Mrs T - another LexiBeautiful name for beautiful girls
and congrats to all the other new mums
I never did get round to writing a birth story, but briefly....
On saturday (day before Lexi was born) me and OH were busy trying to fit skirting boards and I think this is what set me off, haha crawling round on my hands and knees and drilling! :rotfl:Oh yes and then the very hot pizza from dominos. - Although its fair to say I was already in labour at this point I had rather strong and regular contracions every 20 mins. At 11pm I decided to try and go to bed and get some sleep.
I woke then at 3am and ran a bath to help with the pain - all very calm I even left OH sleeping while I had a soak and struggled to shave my legs, how vain of me. I dont know what I did for the next few hours but at 7am I decided I couldnt cope alone anymore so woke OH and asked him to ring the labour ward, they told him to give me 2 paracetamol and run me a warm bath... I knew I was past that stage but the midwife on the phone was having none of it even though my contractions were 5 mins apart and ripping me in two!
After a quick bath (about 10 mins) I got OH to call labour ward again as contractions were 2 mins just about apart and lasting over 90 seconds - they told him to call back when I couldnt cope any more.... So needless to say he rang back and said we were coming in. We had to take DS to my mums first and i honestly thought i was going to have her in the car, i dont know how i managed but i didnt push.
As we got to reception, with me in a wheelchair and breathing rather heavily I was asked what i was there for... OH thought this was the most stupid question ever and replied ..erm...a baby i think, sorry you probably had to be there but it was rather funny.
Then everything went a bit mad... i was examined and found ready to deliver...but my bloodpressure was through the roof and and the midwife couldnt find lexis heartbeat. I was rushed into a room and there were lots of midwives i just remember being told to get her out now and how important it was because she was distressed...with lots of encouragment and zero pain relief Lexi came into the world after 5 pushes at 10.36am just thirty minutes after parking the car.
Not quite as I had planned but who can plan these things!
Just wanted to say again how amazing you all are and although I didnt post everyday I was always here catching up on your news It was brilliant to have you all as a support network! Hope to see you on the parent thread - If I ever have the time! Lots of Love sparkle xxx

Searching, my OH moans about any kind of curry... I managed to get him to try Korma a couple of times and he did enjoy it... Until one day when he had a stomach bug and ended up throwing up in the middle of eating his curry... Haven't been able to get him to try it since...
Sparkle, excellent birth story... That's the kind I want (but without the high blood pressure and dodgy heartbeat) turning up at the hospital ready to push it out is what I'm aiming for...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Great story sparkle03
Sounds like you did really well!
Been clearing through the house a bit - we really have waaaay too many books. However, I have now signed up for a paypal account, and have registered for ebay, so hopefully will get rid of some of them. Even if they only go for a pound or so I'd be happy just to get some space and a little money for the baby accountSo I've been having a look around ebay and some of what I have may sell, some may not: I'll just keep my fingers crossed. So next weekend I'll probably start listing items.
Need to go to the shop for a couple of things, but can't be bothered going out really. I do need some vitamin tablets though as mine ran out last night, and I don't like missing them if I can help it. So will probably get tidied up at some point - right now its cuppa timeI think its going to be lasagne for tea as have that in the freezer with garlic bread.
Looking forward to the private scan next saturday :j Hopefully will find out if its a boy or girl - all I know is that it is obviously a very laid back little baby as I still haven't felt any movement yet. :rolleyes:0 -
cheers for the birth story sparkle
