Harley, you'll get a nice hot meal well before 2yrs
I'm far from a domestic goddess but I manage to produce some nice stuff - in fact I cooked more when Chris was around 6mths - 1yr because that was when he would happily sit n watch me cook now he's tugging at my pants all the time and rooting through the cupboards
Thanks Sami, I hope you are right, but I was hoping it would be a good excuse to get my mates to invite me over for dinner more often :D

It does worry me that I only have one pair of hand when most people tell me how hard it is with two parents taking care of everything. I thought I would get one of those Chicco highchairs that are suitable from birth so that I could at least have her next to me in the kitchen and at the table when I want to cook and eat.

Maybe I am just looking for problems where there are none but sometimes it really worries me how I will manage on my own.

Sorry, that turned into a bit of a 'woe is me' and I really didn't mean it to.

Don't worry Harley, I'm guilty of saying I don't know how single mums cope, but they do some even better than us couples!
As long as you have some decent friends and or family to help you out every now and then you'll be fine!
I used to prep things while Chris had his afternoon nap so I could just chuck them in a pan later on which helps as it would often get a bit chaotic in the evening!
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

Thanks Sami, I'm sure I'll be fine. She will certainly be the most wanted baby ever, even if it is only by me.

Now all I have to do is train her to kill spiders... There is a giant maneater sat on my lawnmower and another one at the top of the door to the shed. I'm sure one of them is bigger round the middle than I am:eek:. I sprayed them with weedol yesterday, and hit one with the bottle, and the damn things are still sat there staring at me.

Think that is one battle of wits I will give up gracefully. Dad will be here next weekend, he can deal with them, if I'm really lucky maybe he'll even cut the grass for me:o

Harley, I was a single Mum for 4 years, I managed to eat plenty :)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Thanks Krystal. That raised a smile.

Since I'm being a wuss with the spiders I'm going to go and catch up with CSI.

Have a lovely afternoon, enjoy the sunshine on my behalf

    glam you got a recipe????x

I buy the jar of pataks paste and follow the instructions but add in peppers and grated carrot to bulk it out.

Fry onions - add half jar of paste then add 4 chicken breasts chopped and seal.
I wait til chicken is cooked then add 2 x peppers, 1 x grated carrot and 2 x tinned toms.
After 20 mins add 200ml of natural yogurt or cream.

It says to add water with toms but mine was too runny so won't be doing that again.

oh and I keep forgetting to say this

My surgery contact the 2 hospitals where I had my reductions and they both said that they generally only remove fatty tissue and NOT the milk ducts!! So looks like I could be able to breastfeed after all!!!

Who else was it that had a reduction? was it Faye?
    Might PM her

    Hey,

Good to hear from Elle and that Rhys has made a bit of progress. I copied the BS for OH and now he keeps asking if I have heard anything every time I am on the laptop.

Beenie - I had been half heartedly stopping smoking on and off for about 2 years, but the night I did my pregnancy test, we weren't sure if there was a line as it looked a bit faint. OH went to chemist to buy more tests, so he was under orders to get me 10 ciggies! I had about 4 of them in quick succession before binning them for good. I haven't craved them at all to be honest. I read Alan Carr's book and found it quite good (which I was surprised at!). Just do your best - I know it will be worth it financially as well as health wise, but no-one else can convince you.

Glam - well done with your batch cooking! You have inspired me to think about it (if not actually move of my lazy butt and do anything about it!)
