I have been looking at cotbeds online. I want one that I can have a cot top changer for (Mothercare have one that fits all of their beds except one). Does anyone know if they are standard size and would fit most cotbeds if bought from somewhere else? Also, does anyone have a cotbed with a drop side and do you feel it's a real advantage? There don't seem to be a lot of cotbeds with the drop side, but it was something I was looking for. Just wondering if it's worth going out of my way to find one with that feature or not.

Thanks as usual for your opinions/advice!

OK so all you need to know for the cot top changer is the mattress size of the ones it fits, any other cotbed with the same mattress size should be fine provided it doesn't have big fat rails, which most don't ;)

drop sides - Are you planning on having another baby after this one?
Chris has only just had the sides taken off his cotbed and until he did it was a real struggle for me to reach him in there :p

Oh, that's ok then! I must have missed that.

How was the blood test, Sami?
:( not too bad, it was painful and I couldn't feel my ears  when I went feint but I managed to stay 'awake':j
Hubby was actually very sweet and even kissed my forehead when the needle first went in :A
I'm sooo tired now though! I woke up with hubby's alarm at 6:30am and just lay there feeling sick with fear!
    I'm so useless!

I agree that drop sides are not essential (Our cotbed doesn't have them) But could be a bonus... Lifting them out is not such a problem, by the time the base is on the lowest setting it's probably because baby can stand up... But if they wake in the night and you have to go and lie them down and settle them then it can be a real pain leaning over the side of the cot... It really digs in your armpit...

Armpit?? Krystal  mine would chop me in half, diggin in tmy stomach.
I used to occasionally get stuck bent over the side of the cot and have to wiggle my legs wildly until I could get my feet back on the floor :rotfl: obviously if your tall u won't have that problem!

    Morning.
Why oh why does pregnancy bring a new ache/pain every day?
Yesterday evening my belly button popped out. Yuck!. Never happened the first time. And it and the surrounding area was so sore all night. Woke up this morning and i have an inney again and no pain. Very strange.
Are all the new aches to do with my age this time, i was 29 when pregnant with DS and only remember the seizing (sp?) up in bed. I think turning 35 and getting pregnant has sent by body over the edge.

I think age might have something to do with it, I was 20 when I had DD and it was the easiest pregnancy in the world (not the labour part !!) This time at 27 this child is making me hurt like hell !!!!!!

My cot when i was a baby had a drop side and i figured out how to drop the side myself very early on and get out mum said i was a nightmare! i say clever :rotfl:

I have just had my apt through for my first scan whoop whoop but i have just had a wave of nerves about telling our parents which is completely silly as they will be thriiled but i still will be nervous when i tell them. Might get ds to say mummy is having a baby. Last time i just handed them the scan pic and mum was like what's this then and dad said i know. Duh! she was a bit slow on the uptake it really did surprise them.

The prob with the scan is dh can't get anytime off work unless he had 3 months notice that's the great nhs for you shame he doesn't work in the same hospital really. Do they do saturdays? and has anyone took there older children with them. If i try and get someone to have ds they will want to know where we are going.

Well i have the out laws coming over this pm so i had better get some house work done. Mil always manages to find a dirty sock or something under the sofa it's like she is programed to find dirt!
