Surely someone must get to meet their little ones today! Fingers crossed and good labour vibes to MrsT, Krystal, Candice and greent.

Elastigirl - how lovely, to get whisked away for the wekeend, hope you can find something to wear.

Am 12 weeks today, can't help but smile and I don't care that my trews are tight and I look fat and that my boobs are not only still getting bigger but are now veiny - thanks DP for pointing that out, as penance he gave me a lovely massage with sanctuary mum to be body cream and that put pay to the planned evening of housework ;)

Hugs to Pompeygirl. Sorry for your loss.

Got day off work today - it's the first anniversary of DH's dad's death so we are taking his mum and gran to the cemetery and then out for the day. His gran gave us some money for the baby so we have decided to take them shopping for a cot and for lunch. Couldn't really think what to do, so OH thought it would be nice to do something for the baby rather than sit around all day, and it means his gran can see what we buy with the money.

I have been looking at cotbeds online. I want one that I can have a cot top changer for (Mothercare have one that fits all of their beds except one). Does anyone know if they are standard size and would fit most cotbeds if bought from somewhere else? Also, does anyone have a cotbed with a drop side and do you feel it's a real advantage? There don't seem to be a lot of cotbeds with the drop side, but it was something I was looking for. Just wondering if it's worth going out of my way to find one with that feature or not.

Thanks as usual for your opinions/advice!

What a nice idea it will take their minds off the day for a little while and it's nice for them to feel involved.

I had/ have a cot bed and i wasn't bothered about it not having a drop side as it has 3 different height levels so we had it at the top level when ds was a newborn i had a section and it was perfect as i found that i wasn't reaching down to far to put ds in and out of it. then as he got older we lowered it. He is currently still sleeping in it as it is now converted into a proper bed and could do until he is 6+ but we will need it for this one so we are looking for a cabin bed for him.

A top cot changer is a great idea i wish i had had one i couldn't get down on the floor very well to change him on his mat and didn't have the room for a changing unit. I am going to ask fil to make me one this time.

I always remember getting told off in hospital for changing ds on my bed even though he was on a travel mat. I don't know how they thought i was going to do it any other way when i had a catheter and a drip still in.

Just thought, has anyone seen Tia recently? I know she had exams and stuff but she usually popped on here anyway.

Fitzio- can't help on the cot question I'm afraid, but what a lovely thing to do with your OH's family on such a difficult day. I bet they will love looking at all the baby things.

Thanks guys. May end up not buying one today, but I think OH is keen to purchase! I thought that maybe with the different mattress heights there wasn't a need for the drop side, but then thought that it means when they are older and at a lower position, it would make it easier to lift them out!

Elastigirl - have a lovely weekend away.
GISI - I think Tia is on holiday this week, but my memory is awful so don't bet on it.
