If only they were all like that!! Must be so nice to have a joke about it rather than being miserable and awkward about it
I've NEVER had a problem. I must just have an honest face!!!0 -
AaronDH wrote:Every transaction is saved on the system and I imagen they could recal it using the serial number on her receipt (the one at the bottom consisting of till number, date, time, operator number and a unique transaction ID). Because it was refunded to CC, they can check and recall it - at least they should but with all things like this, it may take a little time and it may be best to go in when the store isn't to busy and you don't have to go anywhere urgently.
While the transaction could easily be recalled and it be shown that only 2 items were refunded, this MAY not solve the problem.
The trouble is, bb999 still cannot prove that in fact 3 items were returned. Please do not get me wrong, I am not calling him or his other half dishonest, but that is a classic "con" that some more dishonest customers would try. I.e. return and get refund for 2 items, come back next day and say "I returned 3 you only refunded me for two."
Customer Service should have marked the receipt - they didn't thats a mistake. But there is also some responsibility on the customer when receiving a refund (or even change) to check before leaving the store.
bb999, I stress I am not questioning you, I 100% believe you. My advice would be go back to the store, try it at the same time of day you originally went for the refund you may get the same member of staff who might even remember doing it in the first place...0 -

My wife phoned the store yesterday and explained what had happened.
The cs staff basically said that there was nothing that could be done as there is no proof that the item was returned.
To be honest, this is the reaction that I expected, so I cannot really complain. It will just have to go down to experience.0 -
Any new deals?0

As a newbie, I fully understand the concept of R&R, but every time in go in, DVS's/PSP/Playstation games either have a price on the SEL or on the sticker but not both. How do you check whether the price is correct without taking every single CD/DVD/game to the scanner and check manually - it looks a bit suss if you do that. What clues should I be looking for or are there any giveaways that I should be trying to spot?0

If you want to see what an item will cost on the till, simpily take the item to a non-busy till and ask for a price check, the SA can do this using a 'price inquiry' function on the till's menu.. No matter what the outcome is, just say thank you and walk off; needless to say don't do this at the electrical or CS desks. If you want to go for an R & R (I hounestly believe that at this point you are abusing the system and it would be far more hounest to explain the error to a supervisior but this is IMO because Mr T pays my drinking money!) then buy the item at another till, maybe not on it's own and not in multiples as it just makes it more awkward for the CS.
Be prepared to wait a long time and it's often best to pick a time at which the store isn't too busy or it just stresses people out and makes the experience less pleasant!0 -
You pretty much need to scan them to check the price, best bet starting off is to check the ones posted on the misprices thread sometime you find the same mistake in many stores. Other things to look out for are products with a higher SEL than they are stickered or 2 different prices up for the same product. But you'll still need to scan them to make sure. I take a discreet list with me and check a few products.0

Having re-read the post I fully understand what you are saying, originally I though she had returned each item but been given the wrong amount of money back for each item. Moral of the story... leave the kids at home while shopping and check and get them to mark your receipt!0 -
One for you tonight I called in to Walkden I will let them know now I do use their store. just to see if any PSP games were still wrong and unfortunalty no they werent. I upset my sister earlier I made her change the wheel to her own car. anyway we saw Mr Kiplings excedingly good cakes on offer 2 for 1 and I know she likes them so she picked some up only becasue they were n offer that is the only time we buy them. picked up a few other treats and went and paid. I checked the recipt and saw the 2 boxes of cakes had gone through at 1.09 each and no deduction, we added the recipt up and the offer hadnt come off.
Off to CS I dont expect this r+r but I was over charged so we have to inform them of the problem. CS scanned them and went to check, and returns saying she couldnt find the offer. I went back with her and the big red/yellow offer label had been removed. I was well pee'd off at this point a few other assistants came over and fed me bolox about the offer on those is usually 2 for £1.66 or somthing and it doesnt start untill midnight. We ended up getting a refund but no cakes. I think I will visit tomorrow and see what the offer is, it was obvious that someone removed the label as the big holder was still there.0 -
Sounds like we need to bring in our digital cameras to the stores to prove what the sel / promo label said before they ripped it off!0
