afaik, it only says to contact a member of staff if the link to the machine is down...I think GRFC was making the assuption that the machine was working correctly (believe it or not some do!)Who or what was I before you came in to my life

BTW the policy states overcharged against the product or SEL yet people still try to get R+R's on banner, leaflet or newspaper prices and bend the rules to suit themselves....You deserve a R+R if you find that the advertised policy fits.
The policy advertised in store states overcharges against the product or shelf - no mention of SEL. I don't know how Tesco can argue that posters and TV's attached to the shelf don't count.
It is worth mentioning that Tesco's web-site's "new refund policy" states: "In the unlikely event that we overcharge you we will give you your money back and you can keep the product." As such newspapers, leaflets etc must count?0 -

And the policy on the website states simply "if you're overcharged", so either would apply.
AFAIAA there's no precedent in law for the situation you described previously, so any opinions given would be just that. I'm prepared to be proven wrong however!0 -
Does anyone else think this thread might have run its course now?
Tesco are now reading it and checking misprices their own staff have failed to notice, and every second or third day we're having the legality/morality argument now. While this is better for the customer who are overcharged less often, the reason we are mostly here is to get R+Rs. By posting misprices here, we're just making it easier for them to be corrected by the staff instead of by an R+R.
Perhaps we should keep the items we find to ourselves a bit more, or find another way of passing successes on. I got free beer this weekend, which was greatly appreciated and I'd rather like to continue that trend...0 -

No, I think that overlooks the help that has been given to posters, both by Tesco employees and others. The fact that Tesco employees (such as myself) post on here surely is a benefit rather than a negative - gives a more rounded response to queries.
If a individual store has poor routines, it will create miss-prices regardless of what is posted on the internet. My stores price integrity is fairly robust - I can not think of anything that has been posted on here of late that has been a miss-price in my store.Who or what was I before you came in to my life

I was the opposite to the Family Guy guy. I had a couple of small misprices (free range eggs 84p v 82p and Finest Italian Seasoning for Chicken in the Barbeque Section, out of Date SEL £2.15 v £2.69). However, the lad on Customer Services was by himself and he said he couldn't leave the desk, so if I could go and get the appropriate SELs, he would take care of it. I did so and he gave me the full R&R and thanked me for the help.

Not always the case. I have carried a PC round once to check the price and it didnt work it displayed check with staff or whatever. repeated it a few times and the same thing.
rather than grab another I picked a few items of the nearby shelf and tried them and I got check with staff the machines werent working. no idea why, maybe turned off problem with the system who cares r+r is somthing fun if you find somthing great if not nevermind there is always next weeks shopping trip.
jget I think you need to stop picking fault in what is said.
As for stopping people posting misprices becasuse there are tesco staff reading this why? It makes things better when you find an r+r that a store has missed even when they have the information available to stop it.
I would like to know which store constantine works in, seeing as his/her store has a robust price integrity. I say that is a chalenge:rotfl:0
