had my first rr today, Tesco's on Edinburgh Rd Perth had Rosti's for sale buy one get one free, but on the box said buy 2 for £3.00 (£1.99 each). Bought them and got charged the £3.00 instead of £1.99, so off the customer services and got refunded no problem, but why do they make you feel like its your fault?0

You see, it's themselves they are cross with and not you.0 -
Could someone please advise please. Following a vist to customer services with 3 packs of steak incorrectly periced the customer services lady insisted I provide both my name and address and a contact phone number insisting this was part of the procedure in an R & R transaction. This threw me a bit as I have never encountered this before. Can they insist on this info?0

if an item was on promotion at 29.99 and the end date was say 21/03/2006 and I brought the item on the 26/03/2006 and I was charged say 31.99 would I still be able to get a R&R if they noticed the poster/sel was out of date????0

The process of providing your name and address on that bit of paper is to prove to the "powers that be" that staff are not being dodgey and refunding money to themselves.
Ever wondered why items across the retail sector are priced at x.99p? Instead of 2 pound? Staff need to put the transaction through the till to give you the 1p change. Hence its logged.

Technically its a overprice. You read the SEL and saw the price and thats what you expected to pay.
However some try to wriggle out of it explaining that the offer is out of date and you (somehow) should have spotted it. Its only happened to me once and I stood my ground and got my R&R.
Its their respionsbility to check SELs, not yours (or mine).

I was shopping with the other half tonight in my local extra, amongst other things my Mrs bought a Lace border punch(cardmaking) the SEL was £9.97.When we were going through the self scan it came up at £7.97,all of a sudden i thought "its only fair to go to the CS desk & inform the lad of this".I must add the same lad did me a r&r for a £89.97 item 6 days ago.I walked up & said "i owe you £2",the look on his face was a picture,i explained what had happened & i said "its only right-it works both ways".I offered to show him where the item concerned was,he replied "dont worry about it" i looked at him slightly bemused. He went on to say "thanks for your honesty, but i would only be concerned if we had overcharged you by £2".Now i admit it was only part guilt/honesty that made me go up to the CS desk to offer the £2 back & inform him of the error,on the other hand it could? make any future r&r that little bit easier,as i said to him "i always check my receipts".
