Thats just what I was going to reply to CONSTANTINE. Anyone can have a policy but it doesn't take much to see that Tescos one is a TIMEWAISTER as they have no intention of implementing it.0 -

The SEL is £279 and it scanned at £209 - not sure if it still does. Not an R&R, but a very good price for the Premium console.0 -

I can (obviously) only speak for my own store. r & r is followed correctly and without hassle. Due to the layout of the cs area the board is displayed some distance from the desk - cs staff provide the r & r automatically. r & r's are brought to the duty managers attention, but that is so the mistake can be rectified rather than to inconvenience the customer.
Different stores take a different approach it would appear.Who or what was I before you came in to my life
I am not sure0 -
Can i just say had a very nice S.A today , got some R&R cheese and drumsticks.
The sel was still there ofr the cheese but gone for the drummies, showed here where it was 5 mins before and now not there and she still gave the R&R , without a quibble, Got to say there is not many like this0 -

You are right in that Tesco is a private company and their stores are private property and with the Law as it stands presently they could probably ban you and I etc…..
However, the beauty of the law is that "IT IS NOT STATIC". My point was that if Tesco ban somebody simply because they do not like their shopping pattern etc. then this could be challenged in LAW possibly using the ECHR (European Convention on Human Right) or another Law of the land which could question whether Tesco's action was REASONABLE.
Private companies should exercise their rights responsibly under the law such that it is not to the detriment of the society. Companies the size of Tesco do have a social responsibility and moral obligation. If they do not act accordingly, new laws will be brought in to clip their wings and force them to act reasonably and socially acceptable.
Just to give you an example, if you do not pay your utility bills (gas, electricity., telephone etc) the companies can cut off your supply to force you to pay. When Water companies started cutting off supply because of customer's water debt (after the companies became private) the law changed so that they would not be allowed to cut off customers water supply. It was considered that having your water supply cut off to be inhumane and unreasonable as it is a vital lifeline.
This is off course not to condone any unacceptable behaviour that some R&Rer may have exhibited whilst having their adrenaline rush. One cannot comment without knowing each individual case however, people who have been banned must have pushed their luck just too far. From what I have read here some people appear to be too aggressive against the CS and don't realise that they should not try to win every battle in order to win the war. BM
From what I have read, I believe the attitude amoung some managers now does seem to be that of banning customers identified as being repeat R&R's. I have been courteous and polite at all times, however I too have been banned from my local store. I have been back since and was told to leave by Security, but I can't help thinking to myself "What I have done wrong?"
Needless to say I am taking this further..0
